max tire size

    i am going to buy tires today and i want to know how wide of a tire i can put on a 96 impreza brighton wheel. i am not sure if i can put 195/65-14 or should i stay with 185/65-14.

    I bet you can go with 195s. My LX came with 195s but i also had the 15"alloys.

    Look at the tire specs for the tires you want it should list the minimum wheel size.

    Yeah, the 195s should be fine, height-wise anyway. I ran 185-70-14 for winter tires for a long time which is about the same height as 195-65-14.

    Has anyone had experiences with any of these tires or what tires would recommend at a reasonable price?

    I hav had good luck with the potenza G009. it is fairly cheap for a smaller tire. and I have 60k miles of solic abuse on them. ice traction and snow traction after decent mileage is not the greatest.

    My sister has the Yoko's on her car. It's a nice tire but I wouldn't pick it if you are planning on using them year round.
