Guadalajara in Rogers is excellent! I highly recommend their Fajita Sepremas (steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas). I can't vouch for a whole lot other than the fajita sepremas but everything I've had so far has been good.
There is a place, I never remember the name, up in buffalo - excellent food. I think the best mexican food I've had here. Mike Wray would know what it's called. ^^^ Its called rancho grande and it is the best mexican food around here.
Mexico Lindo in Cloquet is fantastic, and I feel is superior to Hacienda Del Sol in Duluth. So...if you're up north, give it a try.
Indeed I did. They even went off the menu to make me a chicken mole (they lable it "poblano") dish. Yeah! Now, where's the crapper....
I refuse to believe there is good Mexican food north of the 35 merge. At least good Mexican food that doesn't contain lutefisk. Ironically, there's a Caribbean/Jerk restaurant in Gilbert, MN of all places. http://www.whistlingbirdcafeandbar.com/
i went to Acapulcos last night in New Brighton. Pretty good fish tacos, and the free a.y.c.e. chips and salsa was good too. Polished that off with a gigantic beer. Looked at some of the other food the other customers were getting and wasnt too impressed with how it looked.
I happen to think the Savage El Loro is the best of the 3 I have been too (Eagan, Burnsville, Savage). Interesting.... I also like the new place in Savage, as well; La Fogata.
Good call on Guadalajara. The girlfriend and I went there after making a stop at Cabela's today... Hard to find (if you have no idea where anything is in Rogers except Cabelas) but really good food. Thanks for the recommendation!
Ate at Pineda Tacos (in Plymouth on Nathan Ln) last Friday. Had a chicken burrito and it was damn good. Comparable in size to Chipotle and cheaper! Only complaint was that it wasn't very hot/spicy...but then I realized that's because I just got a chicken burrito and not a chipotle chicken burrito (oh well, there's always next time ). I definitly look forward to trying more stuff there!
If you're ever in Japan, stop at 'Pancho Villa Mexican Restaurant', just outside of Tokyo. Our very own Wakaba has a plate of nachos named after him!
I'm also all about Taco Loco. Working with some mexicans in the restaurant means I get some really good authentic mexican food for breakfast once in a while.
Found another taco stand like place, in Chaska there's a gas station called the Gas Depot across from Target/Culvers. Inside the gas station there's a new taco stand that gives taco loco a run for it's money, there I say perhaps even better... :eek3:
Coming from LA, Pineda is the most authentic Mexican food I've had, and it's theeee best! I go to the ones on Robert and Lake Street all the time
