First off anyone other than Sheen heard of these guys? I found them on RS25 today, they seem to make a lot of Honda stuff. Also I want to make sure I did my calculations right with the gearing. Pricing starts around $2300 for 1-4 and $2550 for 1-5, seems like a good deal if we only knew what kinds of numbers these hold up to. http://www.teammfactory.com/products.php?category=Close%20Ratio% For gearing I used http://www.f-body.org/gears/ Tires - 225/45-17 Axle Ratio - 3.9 Redline (RPM) - 7000 1st - 3.270 2nd - 2.286 3rd - 1.667 4th - 1.238 5th - 0.958
They can hold a good amount of power, but do you plan on tracking your car? The gearing sucks for daily driving. They're very short and almost the same as KAAZ gears.
Is axle ratio your final drive? If so, yours probably isn't 3.9, unless I'm mistaken on that one. I was under the impression that WRX FD was 3.545. Also, either way, those ratios are really short, prepare for cappy gas milage.
Pulled the final drive from this website http://www.cars101.com/subaru/impreza/wrxsti2004.html#mechanical How are the RA gearsets for mileage and wear and tear?
RA gearsets aren't any better than the 04 gearset really. IIRC, the gear widths for the 04 and the RA's were the same. I could be wrong on that too. I'd check nasioc if you want the real scoop. Check the tranny FAQs. The RA's are shorter ratio though.
when Even sold his car he said his gears were not going to last much longer, and he only had his ra set for a year iirc
You've probably seen these already, but: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1327207&highlight=mfactory http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1404710 dig around for testimonials (beta testers).
um, they have a gear calculator set up for u..... http://www.teammfactory.com/gearcalculator.php u compair stock and theirs using that
The MFactory 5th gear on a 3.900 is compareable to the STi RA's 5th on a 4.444 final drive on the hiway. Take these over STi RA's.
