No, he's saying the part in red is just a hollow tube, not a valve. It is supposed to be on your car.

No... Whats in red is on your car. And is NOT a PCV Valve. From the link with the wrong info you posted.

See here... 02 WRXs have a PCV Vavle. Its a 11810AA000 its the old style PCV. The number you had from the internets is only for N/A Models Ej251 and EJ253

Arguing aside.... what is that part then?

the one i took off my car, is made of plastic... looks just like the one in the pic u posted. the top of it and the bottom are plastic openings that go straight through, Yes. however on the side of it there is a metal nipple that connects to a vacuum line that goes to the intake manifold. there is a check valve in there, which lets air though into the manifold(venting crank case preasure) but not backward (from the manifold to the crank case) if there was no check valve in there then i would be pressurizing my crank case every time i am under boost.

Un screw it, its just a nipple, the plastic part is the check valve.

Ok, I have my list for next Wed night.

All the brake pad clips/holders/anti-squeak plates, front and rear, for a 05 lgt. Maybe even throw in slide pins for the front since it has been about 80k since I have looked at them.

Also the front lower spt chassis brace for my 09 fxt. I think it is SOA8431120.

Caliper parts I would like to get next Wed night if possible, the brace can be a whenever you get it in kinda thing.

The part number you posted IS A PCV VALVE YES, WITH A CHECK VALVE INSIDE IT NOT LIKE THE NIPPLE THAT IS ON YOUR CAR, for an N/A car not yours, THE PLASTIC PART YOU ARE LOOKING AT IS THE CHECK VALVE.

Oh for the love of god. There IS a PCV valve on your car, BUT, it isn't the part you told him, it's the entire assembly. The nipple that sticks out of it is just that, a nipple. Doesn't matter what it is made of, it is an empty straight through nipple that screws into the assembly. The assembly does NOT need to be replaced, NOR does the nipple as part of ANY maintenance interval for your car. On older N/A cars, the "Nipple" had an integrated valve in it....

    Like this: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/shop/pc/catalog/pcvvalve_1456_general.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.subaruwrxparts.com/shop/pc/viewPrd.asp%3Fidcategory%3D71%26idproduct%3D2115&usg=__6iAVOktDCH6xAFqMNzjZbDM5Bt0=&h=150&w=200&sz=5&hl=en&start=42&tbnid=2leNOHYUFQU1fM:&tbnh=78&tbnw=104&prev=/images%3Fq%3DPCV%2Bvalve%2BWRX%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D21%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN%26start%3D21

You do not put that on an 04 WRX. It goes on N/A 2.5L motors that have a PCV replacement cycle.

The part referenced in the catalog for your car is simply a metal (or plastic) straight through hose barb fitting. You could probably find it at a hardware store.

Ok i understand that the part number i refrenced was not the PCV valve... i get that.

What i dont get was that fact that Bilke told me there was no such thing as a PCV... now Readymix, you are telling me there is...???

Want i want to know is if that whole assembly, the plastic tube with the check valve in it with the metal nipple on it, is in stock or if you can get it.

I DO NOT CARE WEATHER SUBARU, READYMIX, BILKE, OR awdIMPREZA SAYS I SHOULD REPLACE IT OR NOT.
if i wanted to know that i would not have posted in the parts section.

I think they're arguing over whether or not that IS a PCV. The system calls different assemblies different names. I know there's a new PCV setup in our newer Lexus cars--HOWEVER, its NOT called a PCV VALVE. Its a CHECK VALVE SUB ASSEMBLY (or something like that - varies on different models) now, with a different PNC and a different price. PNCs are a universal identifier in a catalog. PNC 04466 is always going to be a set of rear brake pads, and 17801 is always going to be an engine air filter. 87139 is always going to be a cabin air filter.... (In Lexus world, anyway)

    For example:
12204 is the PNC for a PCV Valve.
12233 is the PNC for "Connector, Ventilation No. 1" on an IS-F. That is NOT a PCV valve, but it has a similar function, however its more than just a valve--hence the different name, PNC, and code in my book. Its not even on the same page.

So, to defend my parts catalog brethren - they were right. You asking for "part number XXXXXXXXX--a PCV Valve for my XXXXXX" is indeed NOT correct. We deal with "uppity" people all day asking for parts that don't exist. Please don't take it personally, but you're much more persistent than most.

No, I didn't say that. Shut up and stop over-reacting. This isn't some conspiracy or double-speak, so stop being a drama queen about it. I can almost picture you throwing your hands in the air and waving them about as you run circles around your desk.
There isn't a PCV valve on your system. Yes there is a Positive Crankcase Ventilation System installed on your car, it just isn't an item that you replace or service as it was intended to be a zero-service item. There isn't a replaceable valve anymore, you have to replace the entire T shaped sub-assembly...and that is done for repairs only, it isn't a service item. So yes, there is some sort of valving system involved in venting crankcase air, but there isn't a PCV VALVE to replace. It is an assembly.

Is idler pulley 13073AA190 (upper) is the same 13073AA142 (Lower)? That mean I need one of each instead of (2X) AA142?
