My Brother's 2002 WRX is getting a p0302 & p0304 error code. And the engine sounds like crap, what do you think he should check next?
    Compression check?
    Fuel rail?
do you think it could be the cam?

He did change the plugs a month ago, but i don't think that may be the root.

    any ideas?

    thnx in advance!

COILS.... check they are on properly....

02 WRX my guess he may be needing some new valves here soon... IB he ran lots of Holiday gas to right???

Do coils go out in pairs? or for that matter that regularly?
I pretty sure he stays away from the Holiday and SA gas. I'll double check.

well from what I have seen / heard etc, the 02's had weaker valves and were more susceptible to burning them.. they improved them in 03's.. I ran Holiday for about 3 yrs, never had an issue, but I had an 03.. but switched...

each plug has it's own coil... but if he just changed plugs recently maybe he never put the coils on far enough...

pm driftin240 or subytek.. they are brothers who both work as technicans at Morries Subaru

Have someone do a quick log. Or get a freeze frame to see how the code came up.

So, talking to my Brother. He ran pre gapped NGK Iridium, which he didn't gap. He doesn't run Holiday or SA. Sounds like he is going to do a leak-down test to see if something is awry... Thnx for the comments! you guys rawk!

regardless what they say on the box, gap your plugs. gap to 28. if i remember correctly those come gaped to 34 which is too big and most likely you are blowing out the spark.
