Hey Guys, I am one of the readers, the lurkers if you will. From the name you can more than likely deduce that I don't own a Scooby just yet.

I came to the site looking for a local perspective on the Subaru's and to gain the insiders perspective of these awesome cars.

I will tell you that for a local site you guys do a really good job. There is a ton of valuable information and opinions to be had here with from what I can tell minimal flaming. Maybe some of the reluctance of some members to post is the fear of getting flamed like so many other sites. I like that you guys keep it clean and yet have a great time and tell it like it is.

The idea of officers etc is a good one, to keep the club on track. Making a mission statement can help the officers or even the club as well.

One idea from another group I belong to is just what someone did today. If you guys are planning on getting together (I.e Opus), in the future or that day, post it. Let people know where you are getting together and you might see an increase in interest. The garage nights sound like a great way to gain from others experience and provide a great way to meet and greet.

    Back under my rock now.

Great job on the card! i think there are enough ideas here to make two sites. lol. i talked with my friend, he was going to look into getting us some deals on (performance)parts. i havent heard back from him yet. but if he could get us a discount it would be awsome.

We could do a garage day where we can hang out bs and do something to someone's car. Maybe a fluid change date.

I can set up a standing date at Dave Steffens.
I'm thinking every 3rd Friday. Meet up at 5pm. Hang until 7pm then swoop down to Firestone.

I think we should have more tech sessions I have only been a member for about a month and I see a rise of people interested in doing repair work at someone’s house or watching. we could also have a track day work something out with the scca and see if we could have a winter driving school or something for a day or two. im sure this is a hobby for most of us other wise you prob wouldn’t be here. well my point is you have to make time for your hobbies. I was told by others to join this site to join in events. its sad to hear that we only have 4 a year.? I agree we should have more like 1 a month. that would be easy enough to plan for. maybe take over the parking ramp at the mall of America for a few hours then go on a drive? or tour some scenic roads and have lunch and drive back. as for talking to dealers I can understand hating them but for a few of us its our only choice. I would say ask them if we can hang a banner on there lot somewhere? if were looking for more people to join this group. sorry if this didn’t lead anywhere or its already been discussed.
    Happy holidays all

Yes, please look closer at the dates you're responding to. Although this thread is super old the topic is still relevant. Russ has recently started a newer version of this thread so I'm closing it.
