I went there this morning just to see the trail and get used to the terrain. It was great partly because the air was cool this morning but mostly because I've never been mtn biking before and I got to experience it. I came back with a slightly bent front wheel though. I probably landed too hard from a few jumps. Nothing a spoke wrench couldn't fix. I'm ready for Wednesday, guys!
Chet, Chet, Chet. Why do you insist on crapping in multiple threads. Bill did great today. He rocked that bike, and considering he really doesn't ride off road too much I say kudo's!!!! The fact that he bailed means he was pushing himself and not just sitting on MNSubaru like some other people I know. When was the last time you road a bike?
The other day I took the Tricross I was borrowing for a ride around the lakes by myself, called Carl he was out of town. Now that I gave the Tricross back the day after I need to get to putting my Raleigh together, none of this off road business for me unless its got a motor. I like to hit the streets on my pedal bike.
I've known you for like three years? I've never seen you on a bike, never. Sorry Maybe you should borrow a bike and come out to Leb with us Wednesday!!! Prove me wrong:biggrin:
I would drive around the 2x4's rail road crossings should be crossed perpendicular to the track. just in case it is out of your vocabulary Perpendicular = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perpendicular thanks!! It was fun. 4 ibprofens and 2 beers and I am ready to go again. lol
This already happened? We should do it at Lebanon Hills in Eagan. Also we could do a group ride to Theo from mi casa and grill/beerz afterwards.
huh? Yeah, we went to Leb tonight. We're going again on Wednesday around 630pm. I know you ride, can you make it?
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...4.778119,-93.187022&spn=0.017851,0.04549&z=15 The entrance is just north of the "A" on the west side. Busted..:ugh:
Bro, tis been discussed ad nauseum... For those looking for info. Take either 77S or 35ES to Cliff Rd east to Johnny Cake Ridge Road south to the trailhead about .75 miles south on the west side.
Exactly. It was real dry tonight, couldn't help but break both tires loose in the fast corners. Fun for me with platforms:yumyum: Tons of controlled skidding
You guys aren't going to leave the newbs in the dust are you? I'm still working on my balance when going through the narrow trails that curve around the hills. Also, any planned breaks in between to drink H2O and catch our breath?
Of course man, nobody is left behind...too far at least. I always wait for people. And I ride a 52lb freeride bike so I'm not fast.
BUMP FOR MORE PEEPS COMING OUT WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!! Everyone, let's meet at the Leb parking lot at 6:30ish.
I'm still waiting to see how the weather will turn out. It looks like it'll be a little damp due to the storm that just passed.
damp is better then dry. when it is dry you slide on the dust, when it is damp it is tacky and your tires stick better so you can corner a lot harder and faster while still being in control!!
Bill, I couldn't get your tires re-sealed, I was too busy tonight. I can pick up the Stan's sealant at lunch tomorrow and get it done before the ride. It will cost ya 10 bucks for the sealant, but then you'll have extra...for the next time, which should be every 6-12 months. bump for more peeps, it's supposed to be 82 and sunny!!!! I'm glad it rained today, make the trails better for faster cornering:yumyum:
sounds good dave. I hope I get back from rochester in time tomorrow!! I was thinking of going to plat forms for pedals. what do you suggest?
well, I willl hold your wheels hostage....so you best show! Platforms are a ton of fun and easy to swap out. Bring them
I need to get some first, just started looking into it. advice?? does eriks have any? how much? what do you think about the ones chet suggested?
they are really nice, but will eat your shins if you mess up, but most good platforms will. They are about 70+ tax...however, I'd go cheap until you know you like platform riding before spilling out the monies
