rohd byking is fun too. I has a SS roadie that is quite excellent. The best is to roll through the Nordeast area and stop for a cold adult beverage or four.
Well, I'm an idiot. I forgot I had the camera until we got back to the parking lot:roll: It was a good time, thanks to everyone that made it out. Anyone up for Sunday afternoon Lebanon ride? I'll go anytime of day Bill, here' what you're looking for:biggrin:
Epic bro rape vibe. Kudos on getting out for a ride tonight. Jealous. Leb this weekend should be doable.
^^^ I have to get my window tint fixed on my car and the guy who did it will be around either tuesday or wednesday, but I wont know till monday. So I will keep you posted.
I'm up for Sunday, would have to be early afternoon though ~12 or earlier. In for Wednesday as well, 6:30~ at Leb? peace
OMG he posted!:eek3:....... looks like sunday has to be the afternoon for me yes, wednesday at leb for sure!
that would be kool! and I got my cheap helmet camera hooked up so I'll bring that with for some video :biggrin: (I'm sure between the group we can do something funny) actually i'm going to first try it out at bc on the downhills if i can go there saturday afternoon..if the boss let's me:hsugh:
How about Murphy Hanrehan this Sat or Sun? Awesome trail, features for all skill levels. Plenty of parking (vs Leb) and safe parking (vs. BC).
Hah! A D9 is overkill for anything east of Loveland, CO other than urbanhuckstylo. Fun, flowy with some nice rock and log features. It will be equally as fun as Leb if you enjoyed that.
OK - I'm riding Leb at noon Sunday. Look for a large bald man in a silver wagon with the dopest bike ever. Ride shall be casual as I will be hung over and it will be hot.
I'm out until further notice. Crappy timing I tell ya. Broke my fork hitting a 8 ft wall near the high school today. jump, air, land, crunch. Cracked the fork right above my axle:emo: help me sell my accessport so I can get on the bike again.
I thought that bike was indestructible???? lol glad it broke, not you. to fix the bike takes money, to fix you takes time...
It's probably my fault. There 4 small bolts that clamp the fork to the 20mm axle. Last time I used the erik's shop torque wrench on them as about a month ago. I was i hurry recently and checked them with a standard allen wrench. I might have over torqued on side. :ugh: I'm thinking that plus the landing my have been too much. bummer
I told you that bike was overkill.... Rode Murphy today. It was blazing saddles out there. Great trail though.
I'm a hucker at heart, not an xc guy. i heard they were working on that trail today, did you see anyone out there? any new additions?
scuba-we should go to redwing and do their downhill stuff. do the jolly roger downhill series there.. you can actually use your bike there.. i have a big hit that i use there but most likely will have my new transition blindside by the time i go again(hoepfully soon) but im down for riding urban, downhill, xc, dirtjumps etc.. let me know! i know some other people on here that will join as well as friends of mine..
Excellent!!!! ^^ Yeah, I love Redwing. Good news. Marzocchi is taking care of me. Shipping out replacement parts today, should have them by the time I get back from the rally. Whoa! I was freaking out thinking I'd have the replace the fork and I didn't want to spend another $1000 on this bike:eek3:
i have a extra rock shox boxxer team i couldve sold you and then you wouldnt have to worry about those lame bolts.. but ya lmk when we will go ride.. urban or downhill etc i dont care.. sell your demo 9 and build a demo 7 or 8 at max.. 9 is rediculous. buy my bighit frame with aftermarket fork and shock and some other goodies
Bah...I've owned DH/FR bikes since the mid 90's when I lived in Colorado. Heck, in the past 4 years I've gone through a Big Hit Comp, Demo 8, and now the Demo 9. This season is a bit strange for me. I'm getting Sarah into the sport so I find myself on the xc trails more often than freeriding, but I have no trouble pushng the demo 9 around any other xc trails around here. I'm keeping the 9 until I break the frame, which will never happen. Next year though...SX Trail!!!!! Here's the 2008 model
Scuba Steve unfortunatly appears to be out. Anyone else going to show tonight? I will be at Leb from 6:30 if anyone else wants to go. peace
i would but i just got this now.. demo 9 on xc trails? how? you must have some giant frickin legs and i know all about the sx.. id take a transition bottle rocket or rocky mountain slayer ss over it though.. personal preference
HA ha, I love the video of the guy that created the bottle rocket. Rippin it up North Shore style. Very nice. As I was explaining to Soupboy at FS last night, I'm just not a xc guy anymore. I've been riding since 88 (yeah, I'm super old) and the days of clip-in pedals and a light xc bike are far far in the past. I guess I treat hitting the trails like hitting a mountain on the snowboard. Go big, go fast, and make every possible obsticale into a jump. I'm comfortable in the air, much more comfortable than riding a bike with a steep head angle and skinny tires. I may be slower than most riders at Leb, battle Creek, etc...but I can make practically anything into a sizable hit:yumyum: Anyways, my bike is back in action. I'm going tomorrow with sarah and then open for a Monday ride somewhere. Anyone interested in a Monday ride? Say 12 or 1PM?
I am in for Monday, was planning on going about that time as well. Went today and conditions where good. That rain we got the last few weeks has knocked down the dust and all the berms in the new section have set up pretty well so you can get a pretty good slingshot ride around the corners.
crap. Fractured and dislocated my shoulder at Leb yesterday after going OTB and landing on a boulder. I'm out for a while.
for this monday as in today(since its after 12) lmk! ill take my nighttrain my urban/dirt jumper) and ill be there.. as for making everything an obstacle.. yes thats like me. im not all about xc but im about speed and air and obstacles.. the demo9 makes sense out west.. but its too heavy to flick around on the trails we have around here to get any serious air or flicking. so ya ill check tomorrow morning and well see whats going on..
oh crap, sorry about that! Which boulder got you?? ya know sean, they say you're not a true biker unless you've broke your shoulder and/or collar bone! LOL, you must be a weak little man. kidding to each his own
Damn that sucks! Leb seems to be a punishing trail. One guy on Mitsustyle snapped his frame in half there, I damaged my rear derailleur, and a guy over on EvoMN broke his rear derailleur.
sorry i missed it.. i had a bunch of wedding stuff. and no im not a weak guy but flinging around my like 35-30 pound bike over my big hit which is over 40 definetely changes the amount ofair and hang time i get on xc trails and urban riding.. stair gaps is obviously more fun on he big hit and some drops but for jumping and what not ill take my urban bike. not to say that i cant clear the huge double at the new red wing downhill course or other huge jumps out west on the bighit but ya.. i think you know where im getting at..
