^^^ OMG Dream! That car is amazingly beautiful! Awesome lighting and everything about the picture also I love it!
Very nice! My little brother has one but in silver! Very fast! Here's a pic! Crappy cell pic is all I have. Sorry.
Well my wife is still not working so it's a no go on the DSLr. My daughter's recital and birthday are coming up next week so I would like to find a good solution. My camera has a hot shoe or whatever for an external flash, If I get an external flash that's stronger it should help with the ISO noise correct? I was looking at a canon 380EX, and a Sunpack RD2000 but I've never heard of that brand. Any other suggestions appreciated.
you can pick up Canon Rebel XT's pretty cheap nowadays.. its what I have with a basic lense.. good enough for an amateur... its medical you have to find dollars for.... I mean my kids have the good ol English teeeef!! ^actually a sing of good parenting... Preping him at a young age for what to do when one of those earthquakes we get here strikes
Nice job of making a HDR that doesn't look like a cartoon! The compression is killing it though, I don't know if it's your host or your re-size but that part of the picture looks terrible.
If you do it in photoshop it tends to be more realistic. I don't doubt that photomatrix can produce nice looking HDRs, but the default must be set to "cartoon" or "CGI"
yep you have to know how to play with the settings in photomatix to get anything worth keeping. all of mine have been done in photomatix and its not always that great but still better than what most people think a good Tone mapped image is. if you want to sound more professional with the term you should say "tone mapped" instead of HDR because the way the term is used now on every car forum makes hrd such a newbie photo bandwagon fad.
Very true very true, I'm so used to saying HDR because I use that a lot for my school yearbook stuff. More people seem to know what HDR is, over tone mapping. Yea and photomatix really isn't all great, a lot of times they just look terrible and a waste of time lol, but sometimes they turn out pretty cool I think. But yes doing them with lightroom or photoshop works really well.
the big trick is trying to only use the post proscess technique when its needed. it turns out WAY better if you do it when shooting more "at" the light than away from it. ive got a technique that might work for the Night shoot contest that can give simalar results as using the tone mapping. its something you can buy at a photo store but more on that later!
Have you guys printed HDR's successfully? I read that you have to revert to 8-16 bits or something. Big noob here but that's what I remembered the last time I Googled it.
Would a Canon 350D be a good starter DSlr? I would go with a Nikon d40 or d50 but I have a canon 380EX speedlite flash already and I don't think it's compatible with Nikon cameras. I want to spend around $300 for the camera and lens.
Any dslr will take good pictures, it's more about the operator. That said the d40 has certain focusing limitations if you plan to build a library of lenses. Basically pick your brand and build from there.
So, I picked up a camera this weekend. (Canon XS) My first night with the camera (still learning and appreciate input) Taken in my buddies 2000 2.5rs
hell yeah! looks so much better than the humpty dump. gonna attend at least two games this year:biggrin:
