What dafuq is this? I'm a little unsure which manufacturer should be more offended. From MN Nissan Infiniti's web site.
He also got banned because his avatar which was a lamp that looked like a woman's crotch, which he refused to change.
LOL. Karma. Or Carma. I remember that avatar, I just didn't remember which forum I was seeing it on. It surprises me that this forum would find that offensive.
Been a while since I posted a picture of my car, I thought these looked pretty cool. I was at Utepils brewing in Minneapolis, and their over flow parking is near an abandoned mill. Also, Utepils has an amazing beer garden! Check it out sometime!
Here's the new car. 2018 Outback 3.6r Touring, with the brown leather interior. Most of the oubacks I looked at had a white or black interior. White just seemed like a terrible choice. It was de-badged, so I gotta get that 3.6r back on there, otherwise it's just an ouback The car is a salvage title vehicle. I saw the pictures of the damage, mostly to the front passenger fender/suspension. No frame damage or water damage. I brought it into Morries BP Subaru and had them inspect it. I paid for their Super D Duper inspection, that's not the name of it but it's more in depth than the standard 160 point inspection. The only thing the tech found after more than 2 hours inspecting it was the left rear shock was leaking, and the passenger side mirror won't adjust out past a certain spot. The dealer I bought it from, Sky Auto, replaced that shock, and the mirror before I bought it. They also warranty the car for 4 months, and will work at a discounted rate after that. I looked at a couple salvaged title vehicles before this one, and the damage to those cars was much more significant. You could see creases in the frame underneath the car, body panels not gapped, or lining up properly ect. This car was done right. Besides a little overspray in a couple spots, it was hard to tell. The tech wouldn't have been aware of an accident if I hadn't shown him the photos of the damage. So, I gambled and bought it for $22k. This car with a clean title would be about $35k. Maybe I'm dumb for doing it, I guess time will tell. So far I am loving it, even with the cvt. Drives really smoothly, plenty of power, and some fancy bells and whistles that I dont need but are kinda cool. I miss my 04 wrx and always will, but I'm loving this car more every day!
I think that salvage titles can be great when you buy a car to run it into the ground! As long as the repairs are legit. The resale of said salvage is when you start to deal with headaches. As long as you keep it for at least as long as the last one( ), you should be alright
Props to you for having it inspected BEFORE you bought it (and the Super Duper inspection at that). I am AMAZED by the number of guys that show up on the other car forum I am on with all sorts of questions and problems with salvage vehicles. The salvage business always bothers me. I have (had ?) a former brother-in-law that is still in the salvage business and has spent jail time because of some business dealings that I don't know the details about. If a car has what appears to be relatively minor damage, WHY was it totaled by the insurance company in the first place? Especially on a late model car that still is worth a lot of money and it takes a big repair bill to hit the magic number. It's not like the insurance will total a car just because the owner says "I don't want a repaired vehicle, total it please." And like Josh said, if you keep it and run it into the ground, no big deal, as you won't have to deal with the title issue with a buyer. As long as the car got a good bill of health as far as safety is concerned - we have all heard stories about cars not having air bags replaced and the fact somehow circumvented - I assume modern diagnostic computers can detect this. Good luck with it and I hope it serves you well.
Thanks! The airbags were one of my main concerns, and there was no way in hell that I would have jumped into this car without a Subaru dealership inspecting it. The guys I bought it from were actually happy that I was bringing it to Morries BP, wasn't really sure what they would say about that. But apparently, they buy their Subaru parts through them. I was pretty happy to learn that they use oem parts.
