1. whole thing is slightly washed out 2. overall nice shot - only thing i might have done differently is moved the car back a bit so that you wouldn't see the blue wall/pole. 3. blown sky - shot would work if the sun was in a different spot 4. nice shot, but again, sun postion really washed out the side of your car
the biggest thing is just to watch where the sun is located and know how that will affect your pics. btw, those rims looks great on there!
The glare is a little harsh in the photos but that is such a cool spot! Those could easily become favorites but I think the time of day is what got you. I read once that the best time to take photos (the best lighting) is on A.) An overcast day B.) Dawn C.) Dusk* Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't think I am.
overcast is good if the clouds have enough texture otherwise the sky will just look washed out and flat
bird shots from today. mostly taken on the 400mm f/5.6L. some on the 70-200mm f/2.8L family of turkeys redwing blackbird oriole bathing geese
Also, most of my favorite car shots are taken at the cars level...get down on your knees and take a few shots with the camera around headlight height.
if anyones watched me shooting a car they'll tell you i spend quite a lot of time lying on the ground. it's good to shoot from a number of angles but low angle shots do provide one of the more flattering vantage points for automobiles (not true for people though lol) anyone else into birding or am i the only one? it can be pretty boring on your own - looking for other people to go with
id go birding with you so i can get use out of my 300mm zoom lense. but it doesnt have "is" so it might be tricky
what are you doing tomorrow? I'm thinking on going on a photo excursion - offer extends to any photogs interested
i'm interested. do you have an idea of when, where? or at this point just an idea that you want to go?
yea I don't really have anything specific planned. figured I'd wake up around 10, eat something (or not) and see what I felt like doing. likely more birds depending on the whether
dave (inappropriatescreenname) and I went on a little photo excursion today. it was pretty fun so i think I'll try and set-up some official mnsubaru photo outings gallery: http://carl-s.smugmug.com/gallery/5012834_NgmPb#P-1-20 never seen a bird do this before - this robin seemed to be proping itself up with its tail whoops, wrong kind of bird!
yep it was a good time. what a beautiful day! i'm glad that really big bird in your last pic didn't poop on us! also i'll second the motion for more photo adventures. maybe we could get a photo group, and a guns group and go out and shoot things together?
you guys make me jealous. i wish i could swing a better camera right now, damn wrx! why do you have to suck up so much $?!
dude has some crazy chopps! nice! B&W is something i want badly to get really good at because its a lot harder to take good photos IMO and a well composed B&W is amazing! ansle adams....beautiful stuff
ive been working with black and white a bit lately. i really want to get it down because there is something about a black and white photo. ive also been trying to get really simple too about some of the shots i take.
yah you'd think they would have big smiles! thanks! i really like that one also! the sun peeked out of the clouds for a moment, and made them glow!

im working with some old photos to see if i can make them look like scaled down versions of real pictures. check em out chicago medowbrook lake brookview lot train tracks #10 at broowview my driveway after hail storm
what do you mean by scaled down versions of real pictures? i mean they are real pictures, aren't they? i'm confused, but that's not uncommon... lol anyhow they look interesting, although i like to see detail throughout the picture, so the fuzzyness i'm not so much into. but i suppose it makes it more 'artsy'.
