Are there any around here? I have a coolant leak from hell. I think my radiator might be shot (there is coolant everywhere). I am testing the oil tonight for coolant, but I am pretty sure (begging God) that it isn't the head gasket. Anyone here familiar with WRX cooling systems...possibly to lend a hand or an eye to the situation? I'll buy you pizza.
If you think its a head gasket try getting a hold of another radiator and fill it up, let the engine warm up and slowly open the cap to see if your getting bubbles, thats the simplest I can think of. Otherwise how many miles on your Scooby? Maybe double check your water pump. Where do you live anyway? Wait if you in Cottage Grove, your +1hr away bro. Good luck! C
When my water pump died on my blue RS, it leaked/dripped coolant. A new WP and timing belt was needed. When my California coolant (california car) on my old GC WRX froze up, I got no heat and a few minutes later I got a whole mess of steam coming out of my engine bay. A new radiator cap and a coolant flush was needed. Good luck!

There has been some talk of the plastic end tanks on the radiator popping loose, or having a gap. I don't know much of anything about cooling systems, but as far as a mod friendly dealer, Bloomington Acura/Subaru has been good to me. I only have exhaust mods right now though, not sure how they would react to all of your mods
Bloomington Acura Subaru is cool with all my mods however beware they installed my Exedy Clutch/Flywheel and Cobb driveline kit without reconnecting my linkage all the way(they did however take care of me for this on a good note).
Mod friendly?? I dont think they exist in MN. Ive had nothing but problems with dealer's (especially Bloomington) trying to get work done on my WRX after I was modded. Thats the decision you need to make when you mod a car that still has a warrenty,if you have probems down the road, dont count on a Subaru dealership to help you out.
does your car leak when it is cold outside or warm? Because sometimes when its cold outside the plastic endtank gaskets will sometimes shrink causing a coolant leak. But your best bet is to get a hold of a coolant pressure tester and preesure up the cooling system and then go from there. A radiator swap is a pretty easy job.

Sorry, I meant Minnetonka. Lots of things could change in 7 years. Looks like Bloomington used to be the recommendation back then. For now I will just be lurking, but I will have to do that this summer some time. I just ordered a STI hatchback this week, so I have another 7-10 weeks to wait.
Ha! Wow, blast from the past! Yeah, in those 7 years since posting this, I replaced the radiator by myself. Turned out a week after posting this, my radiator end tank popped off completely and I got a used stock radiator to throw in there for 100 bucks. Then, like tangledupinblu said, I spent the next 4 years ripping the car completely apart, building a motor, tranny, turbo setup and pretty much everything and anything you can do to a Subaru. I sold the car off in January and now I drive a red 350z roadster. Which reminds me, I need to resurrect the "REDYMIX" plates Also, nobody, and I mean NOBODY should be giving this guy any **** for searching the forums for answers. Welcome to MNSubaru, man. You'll do just fine around here I think
