I like it. It feels good in hand, and shoots well. Bit bulky to carry, but works with a big sweatshirt or a loose button top in the summer.
    16 + 1, but if you go with a 45 you'll obviously have less.

I got mine usef for a good price, i've put about 500 issue free rounds through it

You should check out mnguntalk.com, it's a good local forum. that's where I found the fnp.

Actually, the .45 version is 15+1 capacity. If it jams, you can still beat them to death. That's one reason I keep coming back to them vs the HK45.

Just did that myself. Was on sale last week for 14.97/box back to 17.xx yesterday. Maybe if enough people are interested in a particular caliber we could do a group by somewhere online? I'd be interested in buying .45 or probably .223/5.56

Cool, I don't even know where to start looking but I figured maybe buying a few thousand rounds at once might be cheaper than a few boxes at a time off the shelf.

Picked this up a few weeks ago. Marlin 30-30 centennial edition.
No saftey, how i like it
    [IMG]
Picked it up because I wanted a good versitile iron sighted weapon. So i converted it back to iron sights but upgraded the sights to a xs ghost ring and front sight.

I've got the same Marlin 30-30 at home, nice game getter. I tend to use my Winchester lever gun more often though (pre-64 30-30) I'm gonna stick a low power scope on the Marlin, it has a 3-9x40 on it right now, want something like 1.5-4 or so for brush gun.

Ordered up my new barrel for my SBR, 12.5" Centurion Arms barrel. Undecided on what fore end I'll use.

Thanks pal, I'm happy it all worked out. Jumping into this new sport about the right time during my off season allowed me to really focus and getting the right tools really made the learning curve painless. But most importantly having a great group of people to help show me around, sharing their knowledge and toys with me really motivated me to accelerate.

I've been really just working on basic gun control and I think being able to hit a 6" target at 150 ft really helped boost my confidence level. I still have another month before my car season starts and I want to start working on the next level which is just pointing and shooting with using the sight picture and not looking down the barrel. Then next season perhaps start looking for another piece of hardware either full size or compact.

Thanks again to everyone who's contributed directly or indirectly and feel free to chime in with any of your thoughts on either topic. Looking forward to another range day event with the team.

I can't tell if you actually polished the barrel or if you polished up the slide. (Barrel is inside the slide and hidden from view)

I guess I got too excited and didn't snap a few pictures of the actual barrel. I'll see if I can fix that soon.

On a side note I had decided not to make any mechanical enhancements to my pistol after I became more familiar. Now that I have some experience under my belt I'm finding the trigger break could use some smoothing, it's upsetting the gun when I'm practicing with the snap caps. Any thoughts?

I run the XDm in .40. 9mm is an ok round, but I like the 40 cal better. Can't go wrong with buying either one... though they ARE a bit big for a daily carry piece (I still carry it though)

I wouldn't mind the .40...but all i do is target shoot with it and i absolutely loved the one that i rented the other day at Bill's! Super comfy in the hand, easy to use, and i was super accurate with it! If i'm going to drop the coin on a new/used one...i'd rather have the 9mm personally. I would like to get a 9mm and a .22 auto for target shooting. Still don't plan on carrying either one, except to the range in the box!:) lol

I just picked up a new Smith and Wesson M&P fullsize in .357SIG w/ Trijicon night sights tonight. I've currently got it mated up to a Surefire X400, I'll post pics after I get back from the range tomorrow night. The nice thing about the .40/.357SIG models is I can drop a 9mm barrel and mags into it and shoot for cheap. I'm looking for holsters and possibly sending it off to have the slide milled for a red dot sight.

how do you like the X400? I am close to pulling the trigger (lol) on a TLR2 or the viridian x5l gen 2 (if i can get a better then retail price) just for the holster choices that are available which are very few:(

School me on having the slide milled for a red dot sight? as in laser or just a red colored dot as the front sight?

See the pictures at the bottom. The slide gets a slot milled out to accept either a Trijicon RMR or Leupold Deltapoint sight. It's a very, very fast sighting system. I had a chance to try out an FNP-45 Tactical with it, and it was a leap forward in getting on target quickly. I would bet in the next 10-15 years there will be a big swing towards using them on pistols.

As far as the X400 goes, I really like it. It was on the bottom of my rifle but I went to a different lighting setup and so I'm relegating this back to a pistol. The light is very bright, and the laser is readily visible under any lighting condition. Surefire has the best warranty in the business in my opinion and their products (while expensive) aren't known for underperforming by any means.

wow, that looks awesome. If you get that installed I would like to see it/shoot it. I cant imagine how fast you could acquire the target with that on it. Where did you see the FNP-45 with it installed? bills? or someone you knew?

Bill's had one for a while. The FNP-45 Tactical actually comes from the factory with the slide milled to accept a red dot. No more lining up sights, just put the dot on the target and pull the trigger.

I've picked up another one since I got the M&P so I figured I'd post them both up:

    M&P fullsize chambered in .357SIG and an H&K HK45c chambered in .45ACP.

Next one is going to be a fullsize HK45.

Just wanted to share this with you guys incase you're also interested in attending this weekend. I'm in the market for a new precision piece of hardware with tighter tolerances a XDM .40 5.25 Competition Pro. And I'm going to this event to purchase it. There's lots of toys you can tryout and the ammo is FREE.

^^^Sweet! I've got the XDm in 40 as well as an xd subcompact.

My wife and I plan on going. I'm not really in need of anything but I'll bring cash just in case. I do have that 5.25 in the back of my mind for when I do get something in 9mm

I wondered the same thing considering he's shooting 9mm now. I'm guessing this is for competition use and though I don't buy into the 40 is too snappy crap, 9mm would certainly be more of an advantage.
