I've got the 9 and .357SIG barrels for the M&P, and I'll probably have the .40 by the time we go shooting. I love platform interchangeability.

For my next pistol I was thinking about either a .357 or a 45. Either a small CC or another Pro series of some sort. Any suggestions?

    .357SIG or Magnum?

I don't do much with the subcompact pistols, but it sounds like the XDS and the M&P Shield are the way to go with those. The new SIG P224 has me intrigued, and you can really go wrong with a small S&W revolver as a backup gun/ccw.

I do recommend the HK45c if you're looking for a smaller .45. Scary accurate and it'll go bang every time you pull the trigger.

One nice thing about H&K is their pistols are designed for +P+ ammo, so it doesn't matter what you're running through it.

What's not to like about all of the above. Thanks for the tip, I've actually got a few hundred rounds being delivered tomorrow. Scope and more magazines should arrive monday:)

308 ammo is so hard to find right now, I can't seem to find any locally from the places I've checked, currently have two boxes just for break'in. Otherwise Fleet Farm has a nice stock of 9mm and 40's.

I would personally say to shoot a few different versions of the HK's if you're serious about buying one. While I LOVE my USP 45, the HK45 doesn't feel as good in my hand, personally. I oddly prefer the HK45c over the full size, but the grip of the USP 45 fits my hand like a glove. If you're serious about going HK, you can't go wrong, I don't know of a bad firearm they've ever really produced. Just food for thought, buy the gun that suits you best, they've got a variety of choices to find the correct one.

Beyond that, different guns shoot different, the USP has an upward flick, HK45's have a twist, M&P's have more of a snap upward...find the one you like best.

Pretty much this. I tried both the full size HK45 and the HK45c along with a USP Tactical. I was most accurate with the HK45c, so that's what I went with. However, I still want the fullsize as it's a nice gun in its own right. The only drawback that I've found with the HK45c is that the rail isn't big enough for a Surefire X300/400 series light. You're pretty limited as to what you can run for lights due to the short rail.

Thanks pals. I really should be slowing down considering how many of these toys I've acquired in just a year. But I figured I should take advantage of the community and momentum while I still have it. Part of my problem is I'm able to adapt fairly quickly so unless someone points things out to me I may miss it. I'm always open for learning so I'm all ears and questions.

I may take up another league here to keep me entertained.

Rails and attachments are IMO the ONLY drawback to the USP line of pistols, I personally love the bricks, the controls are perfectly placed for me as well, and it's perfectly formed and fit for my hand.

With that said, I would have to say too, as much as I love my USP entirely too much, I think I enjoy shooting my Sig just as much, and it's cheaper.

There will never be a big enough hoard of zombies to worry our household. I'm more likely to choke to death laughing at the **** posted around here lately

I have only found the occasional box here and there locally. The online seller you provided me has now increased prices a bit but still has some available. Yesterday FF in Blaine was wiped out of all but a couple boxes of handgun ammo. They only had a few 44 magnums and 38 special. Cabelas was loaded up with tons of all traditional handgun ammo but at cabelas pricing.

better than GM's pricing, when my buddy and I were there they had 20rd boxes of crap ammo in 9, 40, 45 for $40-75...a box. I laughed, loudly, and stated that anyone who was paying these prices is a moron and should keep up the good work. I saw about 4 people put ammo back on the shelf when they realized they were morons for paying WAY too much.

with the way things are going now. we all better stock pile while the ammo is avaiable. before they say that the bullets are the problem not the guns.

unfortunately, its mostly all private gun clubs... there's supposedly two places in MN that are 500+, but they're basically invite only. there was some talk about those on mnguntalk (last year iirc). they won't outlaw ammo... and once people realize this, and the manufactures catch up the prices will drop back down to normal, yet again. it's a waiting game right now.

So what is the differences between a manufatured vs a reload round that some gun manu's would void your warranty if you used a reload.

because they don't know what/how you loaded your own ammo.

factory man ammo is generally a base point, hand reloads give you the opportunity to have more consistency between bullets, powder, loads,OAL, ect... and if you're trying to get consistent, repeated shots, that's how you'll get it unless you spend the big money to pay a company to do it for you.

it's more or less to protect themselves, some people load WAY too hot of ammo, and if the breach fails, its no real surprise.

I just got my new right hand mini Shepherd kydex holster today. I like this one way more then the Crossbreed regular size as its always riding on thigh when I sit and more to wrap around my waist. I'm considering selling it. It is a left hand holster. The Shepherd is a much thicker kydex.

Just acquired a Ruger SR9C, I like the difference size magazine options with this. It was a tough choice between this and the XDm, but the price difference and feel lead me to the Ruger. I was sad that I couldn't get one in all black(on backorder with no hope in getting one any time soon).

No pics yet, have to wait for it to be delivered to Scheel's in Moorhead. Gun shop is at their Fargo, ND location.
