Exactly. You'd still have horse**** interior, paint, styling, fit & finish, ect compared to the stock Porsche. There's more to it than the overall performance numbers.
Who said that the upgrade monies was for motor only? I'd throw a 6k dollar paint job on her too. The amount of money extra you pay could get you brakes, rims, paint, interi0rz, suspension, motor, turb0z, etc., etc. Given, you don't get to say that you drive a Porsche...but you could get a car that outperforms one for less. when i test drove one about 6-8 months ago...i concluded: -Sweet exhaust note (that alone will get u laid), sweet motor, sexy exterior -wierd and less-than-satisfying dash (dash design/layout/lighting) - when compared to the LGT at least...like 40K + for a black and white and orange dash WTF??? - their DSC (or whtever its called) thingamajig kept interfering with burnouts (needs some reflash to disable) -leather smelled wierd (great seats though..on the coupe..plus they were red leather = sexay!!!) -crazy price tag for a lease...too much money for the car and even crazier price tag for a buy ......but for the price justin got this....its a freakin STEAL!!!!i'm sooooo jealous now i wonder how this motor will fare in teh 135 which would be lighter and cheaper(yea right)
yea, his motor in the 1 series will def be fast as crap and the dash was nice in his car no weird orange you speak of
no sir....black and wierd white/gray (think LCD) during day and orange at night And if they price the 1 series right...and offer the awd...i see a lot of subie owners making a switch. As it is we know full well that the subaru crowd doesnt care much about what the brand is, but more about the BEST CAR FOR THEIR BUCK....and soon there will be better choices. -1 series -Evo X -Audi is bound to launch a 1 series competitor -I expect a nice new Acura TSX with SH_AWD and the RDX's turbo engine soon -G35 -the IS 500 hp beast
Word......sort of. My last car purchase was a no-brainer for me - buy a much updated WRX and swap over nearly every part from the old one. Now that the '08+ cars are based on a different chassis, most of my current mods won't get to make the move to a new one. As such, I will be much more inclined to shop the market when it comes time for the next car (which hopefully isn't for a while).
Good luck with that. Projected BASE price on the 135i is already over the current STi. Now add all the options on the bimmer and watch the price soar. If they ever offer AWD then get ready to shell out another 3-5k. Not.Even.Close.
I figure the way things are going i'll keep my 06 for at least another 5 years. Nothing I can see on the automotive horizon in that timeframe is enough to get me to jump ship or get something else, unless mazda releases a lightweight AWD MS3 which is never going to happen. I'm waiting for alfa to come to the usa and then its arrivederci for one of these:
i think if they ever offer the MS6 in a wagon i'll sell my suby, my truck and at least 1 motorcycle and get that.
