So I finally picked up an aftermarket exhaust system. Granted it is used, but for $180 shipped, who really cares?! Not me! :eek3:

I got a ver1 Maddad stealthback. It's came with a true divorced catted two piece dp, full 3" mp (no taper) and a cheapy ebay 3" axle back. The midpipe has a small dent in it, but not enough to really make a big deal with gains. I painted the muffler black and I do plan on running it. I originally thought the midpipe tapered to 2.5 and I was just planning on bolting it to my stock axle back, but now that I see it doesn't taper, the ebay ab will do until I get something else.

    1) So my gasket question is as follows. The dp is a two piece like I said and where the two connect, the pipe is oval shaped and not completely round like the rest of the piping like the pic shows. So ummm...do I need to get that particular gasket direct from Maddad? Or what do I need?

    2) As far as aftermarket urethane hangers go, does it really matter what brand. I assume they all do the same whether I got Cusco, Kartboy or Cobb correct?

    3) It's an 07 STi, with 20k miles, going on a year old in sept. Is it ok to reuse the stock turbo to dp gasket with the new dp or should I get a new one?

DP next to the axle back. Just showing the difference in the shape.

Go to the parts store and get a sheet of high temp gasket material. Not to be used for the turbo to downpipe connection, but an $8 sheet of gasket material can make about two dozen of those gaskets.

Yes. You can buy a sheet of material and cut it out. It will have a layer of steel in it so you need a dremel if you want it to take an hour or a 4.5" angle grinder with a worn down wheel to take three minutes.
