i guess it's not the crossmember, it's the control arm i think. can't remember what it looked like anymore
meh, don't stress yourself out about it Carl, Graham will figure it out. Honestly, I'd rather have to bend crap back/replace parts then have that noise coming from the motor itself.
the engine mounts weren't torqued, they looked normal...and we probably should have graham or help him pull the motor so we can get a good look and measure everything. graham will tell us what to do. no worries man
again, the only worry is $$. also running out of time - mainly concerned about having to order things
Yeah, get that motor out of there to get a really good look at things, plus the good 'ol Stanley. Find out where things have shifted before jumping to conclusions.
engine mounts "look" ok but in fact have been destroyed which is the major issue with why the engine sits sideway. the left strut tower has deflected slightly but maybe not enough to warrant fixing. graham is going to start cutting large bits of the car off tomorrow.
car getting close to done. car is going back to my buddies place to prep work for paint, re-wire, and some other crap Carl can explain in more detail...but the car will have a new windshield put in, new roof already on...and should be ready for the road in a week or less
received my hood and fenders... all with damage. hood is garbage. right fender should be garbage. left fender is meh. I spent several hours with the hammer and dolly and fixed the fenders but I'll have to buy a new hood and re-spray the fenders. getting all my paperwork together to file a claim - pretty obvious shipping damage. dan and dan helped out - did the motor and transmission mounts. we got most of the wiring re-connected, the front glass is getting installed today. tonight we'll put the exhaust and underbody protection on, reinstall the radiator and start prepping stuff for paint
we are only spraying new parts and sort of blending other parts. it's a rally car, it just needs to look kinda sorta ok from far away lol. so it's staying wrb as that's the cheapest. although we have cpd1's front bumper and might leave that yellow
we also have a black bumper off steph's car from when it hit a deer. not to mention our original infamous ziptie bumper which is just fine... it only needs a few more zipties and it'll be like new!
it's not the bumper. it's bad luck when tall dan doesn't come to crew. think about it. gravity park. NT3.
Ah...you' might be onto something...maybe we can just kidnap him to ensure he's at every event! either way that blue bumper has got to go
made my (yester)day i lol'd at your expense hahaha also one more vote for the blue bumper especially after the whole front clip is new(ish) blue. or CPD yellow for at least one stage of one event -Tall dan
well maybe some of the guys will post up cell phone pics/video from tonight. the down and dirty is the car drives and functions normally. we also came up with a new paint scheme/look that i really like and makes repairs a bit easier
or ban. 'cause last I saw it, it looked somewhat like this: and between that and my XT6.....just too much. I need some good news. also, did anyone do a leakdown test on the engine? or are we relying on it running great that it's still in good shape.
