I'm not a fan of Teins (and most asian-made coilovers) because they tend to cheap out on strut valving and overcompensate with stiffer spring rates. If you really want to get coilovers, look at european(ish) companies that focus more on the shocks than the springs. KW, Bilstein, Koni, RCE, etc. While a lot of coilovers perform fairly well on the track, they often are rough for your daily driving.

However, quite a few people are happy with the "softness" of the Tein SSP's for daily driving, so keep that in mind.

As for me, I've given up looking at coilovers and am anxiously waiting for more info on the Prodrive RB320 setup.

Yeah, except in the eating manual it doesn't have a recipe for Beef Bourguignon.

My guess on the RB320 setup, it is likely something you can replicate using common strut and spring combos that are already available to you currently...and wont cost you an arm and a leg.

    ding ding ding!

also they use the same damn dampener for 35 different types of cars. they have 32 settings becuase not even they know what really works on your car. Theyre made broad enough so the same dampener can be hooked up to different lower attachments and run on a large variety of cars from 2200lbs to 3800 lbs, all with vastly different chassis characteristics

problem is the same dynamics can be replicated by careful choise of struts and springs without using a coilover. you dont get the ride height adjustment and in some cases it might cost more or less, but its definitely possible. Suspensions are a black art and even what loks lie ti will work often doesn't. I usually only give advice based on other cars i've driven or things I've tried myself.

The eurocoilovers are very nice, but way too $$$ for the level of performance. For the track and street give me some koni yellows and a decent set of springs, RCE camber plates and I'm set. You dont want to go too stiff beleive me. I had 13k/10k springs at one point and you cant turn when your car can't adhere to the ground. I've had expensive world class coilovers, The best JDM STi suspension I could find, street springs, JDM v7 sti setup, race springs, kybs etc and driven a ton of other setups and so ar Ihave found one thing is an absolute truisim: if it is magic to drive on the track it sucks for the street and if it is a great street setup it tends to be competent on track but not excellent in the way that a well setup race coilover system is

It really depends on what the driver's expectations of good handling are. Some people think buicks handle great. Some people love the ride of their SUVs. those people are probably sick int he head, but everyone prefers something different on the street, from stiff to flabby. When it comes to going around a racecourse fast throw all that out the window, all you care about is what turns in the fastest times, who cares how it feels.

The RB320 is something along the lines of a "complete suspension package". Check out the initial info at http://www.iwsti.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1208988&postcount=1.

But you are right that you can replicate the strut/spring combo now through various other means and elbow grease. But you can't really beat that package ready to go right out of the box for (anticipated) <$2000.

I wouldn't exactly say that, but they are definitely costly for the mild improvement you would see as a daily driver to gain track performance, if you even track the car.

Taras, Man...as mentioned by other posters, you got to start doing some digging online before posting. Sure it takes a little time, everything worth doing does. Save the posts for when you get truly stumped and after you have exceeded your online search capabilities. I dont think your'e stupid, maybe impulsive? Thats it..."impulsive poster." I'm just havin fun with you but take a little of it to heart. Rick

Too bad you didn't buy the car from WMC. It would have been so much easier to close every thread with the response "call WMC"..........
