Oh come on. He already says he basically knows that it's a mechanical issue. I bet he's not posting because he's at a Subaru certified mechanic right now.
Ok, here is what I am talking about. When you are driving the car, not changing maps, not starting the car, not doing anything other than driving, does the check engine light ever flash?? If it does it is knocking. The thing with the utec is, you can adjust the knock sesitivity. So you can make it sounds like marbles in the motor and not have the utec pick up that knock. I would still have someone look at the utec tune to see what is going on, for the safety of the motor more than anything else. And if the check engine light EVER flashes while driving it, get the tune checked out asap. Russ
why does everyone refuse advice when they ask for it? its pretty common around here. People are trying to help, LISTEN TO THEM.
Because the OP hasn't gotten the answer that he wants to hear. He stated plainly that he doesn't want to look at his map himself. He just wants someone to come over and fix it for him. Which is all well and good, I suppose, if he's confused when looking at his map. A bit lame, maybe. If he's got these parts on his car, he should probably learn how to use them properly himself so he doesn't damage his car, right? Which means listening to people when they offer advice, as you said. But, he obviously knows better. Maybe it will take a blown motor for him to start listening. OP, putting some effort into your typing might be a good idea as well. It's more difficult for people to help you when they can barely understand what you've written.
yo people i dont like the fct that all of you think you know everythin!!! and its not my utec or my tune i already figured it out and fixed it... yea sounds like i know what im doin huh... it was my boost selenoid valve...
Putting you back into my ignore list. Again. Also, I'm sure Russ and Bullwinkle and many other well-experienced people here don't like the fact that you are acting like a twat. And those guys actually do know "everythin". You came here for advice, just because you aren't being told what you want to hear, doesn't make the advice bad. You can't even lay out a coherent explanation of what's been going on or what you've been doing, so how can you expect people to believe that you know what you're doing? You even said yourself that you're afraid of your UTEC, so how can you verify that it's set up right?
Between WRX1, Nuke and Bullwinkle, they do know everything. 1) No one said it was your UTEC, they said tune. Difference. 2) You have no ****ing clue what you're doing. This is brutally obvious due to your grammar, claims, responses, and the fact that you drove the car for 2 months with the problem. 3) They told you it was potentially your boost control solenoid. Listen more. When you're ready to be a grownup about your car and accept advice, please let the rest of us grownups know. They know a lot and were willing to give up their personal time to help. I, and I'm not the only one who probably thinks this, think you got off too easy for being a jerk. A popped shortblock would be a great learning experience.
I will let the grammar go. I usually type like a drunk monkey. I guess growing up and caring about cars a lot more than school will do that to ya. The attitude you can do without. Not blowing my own horn, but I would bet that at BEST bet, there MIGHT be 2 other people on here that have as much seat time with utec's as I do. As for the tune, fine, its good. Have fun. Russ
