I have a '99 legacy auto (no factory alarm or anything) that I'd like to put keyless entry and an auto start in before winter comes. Does anyone have recommendations where to take it/what brands to get? I'm not really interested in a full alarm system, but I'd consider it if that's the only way to get what I want.

I also have a Viper 571XV installed by Best Buy and something is borked with it. I can rarely start my car with the key, only remote and sometimes even that doesn't work until I jostle the wires under my dash enough.

I have a compustar system and I like the system. The guy that installed on the car before I bought forked out about $400 for it.

The only big down fall with compustar that I have had is the remote keeps going bad. To order a new one from compustar or buy from a retailer they want $110. The one I have now worked perfectly for about 8 months and for that past 6 months at least the battery connection or something inside shorts out and it doesn't work.

Have either you three above me had problems with your remote? Shoot me a PM so we can keep the thread on topic, unless the OP wants to know about it.

I've had one Viper remote go, and I'm pretty sure its only a matter of time before the second one goes here too. $75 on ebay for a new one.

Compustar. Talk to Brian at the Burnsville Tintmaster and he can hook you up.
