I am looking for someone to help me out installing a threaded bung into my OEM exhaust manifold so I can install my EGT to go along with the supercharger kit I am installing on my M-Coupe clown shoe (hey shibbs!!). The BMW forum here is weak sauce for DIY as you would expect.

Anyone have the right tools to drill and weld in this bung? I know you are out there and I have cash in hand. I just have 5 more PIA bolts to remove and the manifold will be free. Here is a picture of what it looks like. We just have to work around the Lamda probe and find a good place to install the bung.

    Let em know! ~Adam

No DIY's because all bimmer guys pay to get there work done... ;) jk

This is a nice car, I talked to you a bit at Imola a couple months ago. Very nice car.

You'll have to let us know how it feels with the super charger all hooked up.

I'm sure someone on here has the tools and know-how to do it.

dude you are dead on most of the guys just pay a shop to do the work. I paid Imola to do a new clutch for me but I am going to do the rest. There are a few guys around that have BMWs that have done some pretty major engine building and body work but none that I know of that would help me out. Subaru is much friendlier.

If I could help you with this I would.

However, once you get the project done if you could just PM me your address and whether or not you keep the car in a locked garage that'd be great.

I love the M Coupes, your car is beautiful. :yumyum:

The EGT's I've done on Subaru's have just required the correct size tap, and then have come with screw in hardware that goes directly in to the manifold. Should be easier than welding as once you have your mani off, you can just tap and then thread in your hardware. Guess I'm not sure what your kit came with, however.

I might just drill and tap...I just wasnt sure about the thickness of the casting. Once I get it off I will know. I have 1 bolt left...so far I've spent 5 hours and I have 12/13 bolts out. Trust me, it is a giant PIA to get 1 of the 2 manifolds off. FML. Now I have to try and get the Lamda probe out and I will end up cutting off the bolts that hold the mani on to the downpipe.
