just my luck, all three days i have conflicts - an open house, a soccer tournament, and the LAX Cruise
they need lots more workers! http://www.rallymasterpro.com/workers/ please sign up to work - it's super easy to do (and the only way to see the rally action). This rally is the closest one to the twin cities and duluth you'll find right now so don't miss out!
If all workers could register online at http://www.rallymasterpro.com/workers that would be wonderful
I need a few more volunteers for bannering. Come up and drive the stages and see what all the fuss is about. (at a reasonable speed of course)
I'm contemplating entering Nemadji. Anyone interested in co-driving? Sorry for the late notice, but I've waited hoping to report that the truck was ready and tested before putting the word out ... but it isn't. So there's a real chance of cancellation due to who knows what. This event will likely be treated as a low-stress test-and-tune since this will be the first high speed outing for the truck in 2WD configuration. Handling and brake bias could be ... interesting ... since I designed and tuned every parameter of this thing to be AWD. Ideal candidate will be local with senses of humor and adventure in addition to owning brown pants with deep pockets. Jim Cox #558
Well, he just woke up on my living room floor and left. So I have no clue. I mentioned it to him though.
The Pirate is co-driving for DVW. Jim, I sent you an e-mail. Ben has a HANS I can use and the rest I either have, or can have by Monday.
Found a co-driver. Thanks Mark Holden! Signed up. Now to pay, then back to trying to get the truck ready... J Cox #558
Well this week at work has already sucked big time.... cant wait to sit in the woods in peace watching and taking photos of cars going by....
What roads are going to be closed in the forest for this event? I want to go riding on Saturday and am gonna be pissed if I get up there and can't get to the trailhead up in the NE corner of the area. lol!
I doubt we'll see any significant amount of snow on the roads. rain is more of a concern, as that road gets very, very slippy when wet, and the cold temps will really play hell with most rally tires. Winterforces might be the best tire choice for this event. At least the ticks should be dormant, if not dead! After eight years of crewing, working, organizing rallies this if my first event as an actual competitor.
we're running soft compound R203's which are made for soft or wet surfaces. also have the tire cutter on hand. should be good to go assuming no ice lol
I'm thinking that Jim typically runs Nokian Vatiivas or BFG truck tires on the truck, so we should be OK.
Now that would be cool. If it were actually true. Racing with AWD is like riding a bike with training wheels
Looks like they say there is supposed to be 2-4 inches of accumulation from today with the snow stopping around 4-5am. Then it won't get up to the mid 40's until the afternoon. It will make for some interesting driving out there! I hope us in the sweep crew don't have much work to do out there with the adverse road conditions. So far (knock on wood) nobody has had a bad off at any of the Nemadji's that I've driven medical sweep for. Let's see if we can keep it that way!!
leaving the cities round 8:30- 9:00 who wants to caravan up or ride a long? Hit my email up @ [email protected] <<<<< sadly not driving this...it BROKE
