New car 11 More 1. 4 2. 2 3. 5 4. 4 5/6. 3 7. 2 8. 3 or 4? (bonus point here? Did NOT answer “tie”?) 9. 4 points
New Car Number +1 16 More +1 +2 new points, 9 previously... cracked the double digits and sits at 11 points!
New car number = 1 point 11 years (edited 8:57 AM 2/8/18) = 1 point More = 1 point Bonus = 1 point Running total = 22 points
Question 9 was about the longest amount of time you have held on to one particular Subaru. The average marriage in the USA lasts 8.8 years and the typical American will hold on to a new car for 6.5 years according to Forbes January 2017. With those two numbers in mind. Does this group keep their cars closer to the new car number or the marriage number? Owning a Subaru can be committal... New car number. = 1 point What do you think the highest number of years reported here was for keeping the same vehicle? Get within 2 and earn a point. 9 = 1 point Is more or less than 50% of this group hanging on to a Subaru which they have owned for five years or less? More = 1 point New points: 3 New total: 18 + 3 = 21
New Car # 8 (edited!) More 2 points! (I edited #2 down too much! My original answer of 17 was off too. Oh well.)
Marriage 17 More 1 point, or 2 if I'm allowed to edit my second response to 12 years still, even though I know he answer is 11. I'll leave it up to the boss man @silver03
Public Service Announcement: Due to all the very bad guesses on the second question, you have all been given permission to edit.
On this one, I believe the question is perfectly clear. Let me tell you that most of you are thinking people have owned a single Subaru for a lot longer than they actually have.
For keeping one Subaru? I'd suspect your question might be mis-worded then, as I bet most of us are putting our chips on someone owning an RS or Bugeye since new.
Funny...I had no doubt as to your meaning of the second question (I agree with curly), it was the third question that had me scratching my head as to the intended meaning.
Re: question 2... You're just asking how long the longest someone had kept any Subaru is? Josh answered 7... And he had his blue bugeye for like 10 years... Not sure what that says about the question and/or Josh...
Isn't this whole thing kinda like Whose Line Is It Anyway? Each answer is worth a million points and the points don't matter.
Running total 8 points Q9: Marriage number (higher) 0 points 12 years 1 point More. PS. This question is confusing. It's like Black Panther. 60% of the time, it works everytime... 1 point New running total: 10 points

This group hangs onto their cars an average of 5.6 years. We can find the average we hang onto our significant others...or they hang onto us, in another contest! What do you think the highest number of years reported here was for keeping the same vehicle? Get within 2 and earn a point. Kudos to @tangledupinblu and @pillboy for not only showing the love, but keeping the love for 11 years. (9-13 earns a point) Is more or less than 50% of this group hanging on to a Subaru which they have owned for five years or less? I had to re-read this question slowly myself several times. It does make sense. The answer is MORE than 50% of this group hangs onto a Subaru for five years or less before getting rid of that car. It was close at 51.8%. If this question was confusing, it was not my intention. Take a confusion point if you honestly need one. No judgement here.
We are going to combine questions 10 and 11 respectively which wanted to know the longest road trip in miles you have taken your Subaru on (best guess) and the farthest away you have bought one? What do you think the spread is from the shortest to the longest road trip? Get within 2500 miles and earn a point. Is the average reported distance driven to purchase a Subie greater or less than 300 miles? How many of us purchased a Subie that was located 1000 miles away or greater? Get within 2 and earn a point. If you added up all of our reported Subaru road trip miles, would that sum be greater or less than 50k miles? Optional Evil Bonus Point Potential. Get the answer right, earn a point. Get it wrong, subtract a point. What do you think the average reported road trip distance is? Get within 400 miles and get a point. Subtract a point otherwise if you do hazard an incorrect guess. Only for the brave. Game On!
5,500 miles +1 less than 300 miles 3 people went out of their way +1 optimistically greater than 50k miles +2 new points, 13 points total thus far
