Im not saying it would for sure get hate but for the 6 months or so i've been on here it seems like every stanced car gets hate. I'm also not saying you can't post pictures of your car just don't go flashing around that it's "hellaflush." But what do I know know, I'm just 18

    Ummmmmm....about that.....

And stretched tires does not meet DOT standards, we don't condone that kind of modifications for its a safety risk, for you and others on the road. Also having to much camber, also a safety risk. Don't do it. As "cool" as it may look. You are Wrecking your car. I like to say we are car people here, we like to see cars done tastefully, done to make them a better driving experience, this kind of molestation tends to wreck that.

There are too many opinionated people out there. Regardless of how you set your vehicle up, its totally up to you. I happen to love stance vehicles when done right. The miata above is not a good example.

Not to be too much of an old curmudgeon, but the Stance culture is a prime example of a group of people asking for foolishness to be validated as individuality. (We are all individuals!)

If you express pride in doing something foolish, and ask for validation, that's when you can expect to get flamed. Taking a BRZ, which is designed to be a car that handles, and making it handle worse because you think it 'looks dope' is in that category of being a fool. The Miata above is a lovely example of that.

Kongzilla is right, however, it's your car, do what you want. We all have the right to do dumb things.

If the decal were removed, and if he kept the first set of wheels, I'd agree. It went from tasteful to douche pretty quick.

    I completely agree!

This is peacocking and it manifests itself in many different ways. Many people don't agree with sagging jeans, skinny jeans, ugg boots in the summer and many other trends. Additionally, there is a huge portion of the world that think anyone who modifies cars at all (whether considered tasteful or not) is the dumbest thing in the world.

The bottom line is that this is America (muricah) and people are free to do whatever the **** they want and that includes how they modify their cars.

But if a car has air ride, couldn't you have the best of both worlds? It could look "dope" when parked and cruising, but if need you can raise it up for function purposes.

Freedom of speech and freedom of expression does not equal freedom FROM ridicule.
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
If you want to do stupid **** to your car because it makes it look "dope," fine. Go for it. It's your money and your safety (it's also the safety of others that drive near your ****box on public roads, but let's not get into semantics here). However, when everyone that isn't some peacocking automobile iteration of the club-tard wearing JNCOs, a wifebeater and sucking on a pacifier and swinging glowsticks, tells you that your car looks stupid and unsafe and that you're a retard for doing it, those people have 100% the exact same right to use their speech to tell you that you are a retard.
Also, MNSubaru isn't the U.S. Government. In the world of privately owned properties and services, we can ban you, shun you, insult you, and tell you to go die slowly in a fire if we please. Because we aren't the U.S. Government, we aren't violating your freedom of speech/expression. You are perfectly within your constitutional right to act like a moron on here. And we are well within the rights as the private property owner of MNSubaru to make it so you can't return.

And to be clear, this isn't me threatening ban-hammers. This is me laying it out, because someone is waving the 'free speech' flag and the common conclusion to that argument is always the same. Someone whines about having their free speech infringed because they aren't getting ass-patted by the community at large.

If everyone is telling you that your 'taste' in car mods is ****ing stupid, then go find a padded playpen full of likeminded dip****s to play in.

Trent can tell you, and I'm going to continue playing like I'm not aware of the 4th wall here, that there is a Facebook group for Subaru morons and tard-coddlers called MNSubiez where you can go, talk about stancing out your BRZ, and everyone will tell you what a great idea it is and how dope it will look, and where they wont laugh at you for calling someone a 'broke hater' for expressing their opinion about stanced cars. It's the perfect place to go if you want to get circlejerked by retards. And as Trent can attest, it's where all the rejects from this place seem to end up when whatever self-entitled crybaby martyr complex tantrum they've thrown blows back in their faces and they get the banstick for it.

Is the point that everyone is trying to get accross that we don't give a **** what you think is dope looking or not dope looking? The point that the older folks are trying to get accross is that when making cars stanced, functionality and safety is lost.. Amirite?

You can do it safely, you don't need to run megastretched tires, with the right amount of camber you can fit almost any wheel and tire. I'm not saying run a lot of camber either.

There is nothing "proper" about running 225's on a 10 or 11" wide wheel so that they fit under your inadequate fenders. It just means you are either too poor to do it right (wide fenders, 285+ width tires) or too stupid and just want to look stupid for attention.

Or maybe because, like 99.99% of all disgraced shiat-kids that come on here running their self-entitled mouth till the ban hammer drops, you created a thinly veiled and equally half-assed sockpuppet account so you could come back and continue on your stance-fellating diatribes in a never ending quest to get the last word in edge wise.

Right, because for self aggrandizing attention whores, any attention, good or bad, is still attention.

Parents, hug your kids, otherwise they become stance-tards, or whatever the attention whore flavor of the week is when they feel unloved.

This whole sentence shows that you don't know what we are talking about for "safe". Just because you didn't stretch the hell out of some tires, running them on the inside edge is probably worse. You completely lose your contact patch. You know, the 4 tiny little areas that connect you to the road. Then you are going to overheat the sidewalls and that is when the bad stuff really starts to happen and happen in a real quick hurry.

At this point, I would say that you have been warned. You don't seem to care about the advice that is being given to you.

No, your sn...ahem, sorry, 4th wall...HIS snot nosed temper tantrums defined him as a person. If you, sorry, I mean, If HE didn't go running off to Facebook to cry for attention when he got his peepee slapped for being an idiot on here, we might have some semblance of respect for his plight. Instead, we treat you.....sorry, I keep messing this up....I mean, we treat HIM exactly the same way we treat a screaming toddler in a Walmart, with utter contempt and disgust at the child and the parents that raised him.

Alright, to avoid this topic becoming an MNSubaru groundhog day scenario, what if we set up a sub-forum called the StANceDBOX or something where the stance fans could post whatever the hell they want, and the rest of us could just stay out of it and live in peace? What do you think of that @WRX1 and other mods who are already in on this thread...

That's nice. I'll continue to do to Stance the same as I did with all the other look-at-me-look-at-how-dumb-I-am trends over the years. Undercar neons, stick on vents and scoops, washer nozzle LEDs, rear licenseplate recess relocation, colored tinting, etc...
The problem I've always had with crap like this, and it was especially prevalent in Southern California right after Fast and Furious came out, was that stupid **** like this reflects poorly on the import car enthusiasts as a whole. We've come a long way over the years to correct the perception people have of japanese/korean car performance in the grand scheme of automotive performance. But every few steps forward that we get, something like Stance comes along and takes a chunk out of any legitimacy that has been gained, to the point that even clean, unmolested examples of import sports cars gets labelled as "rice rockets" in parking lot meets across the country because the whole of the group gets represented to the public at large by the attention-whoring retard contingent.
If pointing and laughing and insulting these idiots is what it takes to make it stop, fine. It may not be helping. But at least I can say I did my part to not be part of the problem. It's like the old "you can't complain if you don't vote."

No, because we, as a whole, wont be party to promoting or encouraging unsafe modifications to cars. There are plenty of places they can go to talk about making bad decisions and looking as stupid as possible. MNSubiez group on Facebook, StanceNation...hell, even Nasioc tolerates it.

If that's the official stance (lol) of the mods and site owners that's fine, but then it should be written up as a rule in the General Site Rules thread just like any other non-allowed content, so that people understand the expectations and the mods can be free to lock threads that are focused on stance, soft ban members, hard ban, etc. Right now it's more of an unofficial rule, and that always causes problems...
Don't get me wrong - like Curry I'm not on the side of the stancers at all, but I am however on the side of handling things in the best way possible.
