just a thought... current basic design... change the stars to snowflakes... put 'mnsubaru.com', on the bottom instead of just subaru?

I suppose we could go all covert and not have any text and just hand out "Invitation Cards" to other suby owners.

But that just sounds a little ridiculous to me.

^that one sounds genius to me. There have been many times where I have parked by a subie and wished i had some sort of card to tuck in the driver's window

I think an updated version of the current one would be best. That way us old timers dont look like last years news but someone would still be able to pick the new one out of the crowd. Change is good!

Yes it would be nice to have some cards to drop on cars you see parked or what not. I may print some up at work sometime just for that reason. But alot of people seem to stare at my car, I can't stop and give them ALL cards right?

Just a thought, if there is a redesign with words (I am not for or against it yet), instead of putting MNSubaru.com just put MNSubaru. If people are interested enough they will google it and the first thing that comes up is this website.

Here's my contribution. Its an evolution of the old logo...

    With the flakes
    [IMG]

The fonts can always be edited, the actuall logo itself looks wierd because I cut it out of the picture of it on someones car. Don't have a good straight on shot of it.

we do have a template for handout cards/flyer made up. we went through this a while ago. a bunch of people designed and posted up a printable card. if you search you might find it.

Dizmal: nice work on the logos. far better then my MSpaint hackings lol. it looks very unique with the snow flakes.

dizmal, you got the right idea.

lets try to find a snowflake that looks a tad bit more like a star. shrink the text and make it the same length ats the logo and put it underneath. also use an easier to read font because jubella is right, subaru is hard to read.

Do you have a full rez psd of the original sticker? It would work out best to start that way.

As far as the font. I didn't care to dig around too much at work, especially when they are easily edited.

I would love to get my hands on a pair (mirrored if possible) for my car before the switch. Black if possible?

EDIT: Mirrored as in backwards, so the decal is on the inside of the glass

Who has the vector artwork for the existing MN Subaru logo? I may be able to work in the new SWRT logo to our existing design.

The snowflakes are cool, but instead of using them in place of the stars why not just add them to the MN state stencil like on the other designs, just invert it?

I can knock up some samples if I can get a copy of the art.

Alright, so here is one more. With the lettering at the bottom and flakes in the state. I can't seem to google any real good snowflakes.

As stated the full rez or vector image of the original logo would help. [IMG]

    You're looking for second surface.
the current decals are a relective vinyl, which is colored only on one side,
    the face.
so I don't think that would work.

Ok, a quick revamp. I'm trying to keep as much of the old logo as possible as I don't think it needs to go. Just needs something that explains better what it is. Without bringing un-desirables in...

wow you people are on top of this! ideas are lookin good. i dont know if i am a huge fun of the flakes in the MN. might be a bit too much, but if they are really light/subtle it could be a neat little easter egg ie like reflective snowlfake on drivers lescnecse.

Well, since i'm no mechanic, I figure I gotta contribute some other way besides my sharp wit and funny posts:roll:;)

These are actually, really really basic. But since its a sticker and needs to be affordable, thats all thats needed.

Gotta remember right now they are a single solid color. I bet doing multi-color or shades and other things is going to jack the price (if it can even be done).

Im not on here much but this is kinda my department.

I am the one that makes the MN Subaru Stickers, so to answer a few questions:

mlgez - Gotta remember right now they are a single solid color. I bet doing multi-color or shades and other things is going to jack the price (if it can even be done).

    * Yes doing multiple colors may or may not the increase the price, but it will change everything about the stickers. They will not be reflective anymore due to the image being printed, rather than cut. This makes the process A LOT easier, and you can get very small with images. With printed you can also have the faded snowflakes. That would not be possible with just a cut vinyl.

I can do multiple color reflective but that would mean hand laying each color, which would definately bring up the price.

Remember to, doing snowflakes very small may not work, due to the properties of the reflective vinyl. It is thicker than regular vinyl because of the metal in it. It is pretty hard weeding the garbage vinyl around it off so that just the snowflake remains. The small flakes tend to lift off while you are pulling everything around it off, making things not very easy.

Some of your ideas look really good, and I am willing to do what I can so we can get the final new logo done for the club.

    Just my 2 cents.

Any questions, please write or call

What about making the logo, and MNSUBARU separate stickers?

Then you can put the logo itself anywhere, and the MNSUBARU wherever you would like, it doesn't HAVE to go below the logo ... or you can buy the name on it's own

then 2 colors can be done on each one maybe? Cause i like Dizmal's latest one a lot, but think it's too big with the logo and the name, the logical next step would be to separate them into 2 different designs

then you could put the state on the MNSUBARU ones too, just next to the M and make it smaller for a 3rd design

I just wanted to put in a vote for a simple text only MNSUBARU.com or simply MNSUBARU in reflective black or grey, in a smaller font... something simliar to the gold Nasioc.com sticker.
I love the rally style design, the sticker is just a little too big/flashy for my taste.
Of course, if there isn't interest from anyone else I'd just have a couple made as a one-off.

A Gerber Edge can print color over colored vinyl but we'd be limited to certain colors. Even then you've really got to use white as your base or else the printed color won't look right. Other option is to print them on a VUTEk in 4-color process but it's not meant for small, fine graphics like that. That and I don't have access to a PressView with the CNC cutter so you'd have to trim them all by hand :eek4:

Best off just going with the single color cut vinyl. It's way more durable and just a lot easier to work with.

So was someone going to send me the vector artwork for the current logo?
