brian, lots of good info about these cars. Speaking with my uncle (a Sgt in apple valley) he states that he would rather keep his vic over the charger they gave him. He claims a very small working space in the front, and far too much room for perps in the back.

Shibbs...I dont even know what to say to your comments. Go on a ride along, maybe talk to a cop, or two. Of course this is coming from someone in a public service occupation, but really, you have no idea.

Wear a flak vest all day and tell me about the itching, sweating, and where it rubs you raw. Walk around everywhere with 20-40 lbs of gear on your waist or on your vest. Deal with people with bad attitudes all day, who break the law, and also take those privileges for granted. Another side note, a cop NEVER gets to turn off his mindset. Criminals remember faces, they remember names, and they can be very resourceful. My uncle for one has had many threats. He has 2 daughters and thankfully, a wife who is also an officer. Also, look up their pay and benefits, its more than likely advertised right on the PD's website. People in that pay grade could find much safer jobs if it wasn't for the way they were wired. I guess its their fault for being some sort of idealists.

Anyways, end rant. Im sorry for that.

My opinion is that anything that gives a cop more security and eases their job, the better. The vics are outdated, and while they have been a good workhorse, its time for change.
