Hey im considering upgrading my turbo for my 06 wrx. Between the new sti turbos and the vf39 whats the difference and what would you recommend? Not looking to go too big. The turbo would me matched up with an sti tmic.

Both are close enough. Spools about the same and makes about the same power.
    VF39/43/48 will do fine

The newer vf turbos have a larger wastegate from what I have been told.
Are we talking brand new or new to you?
Just wondering considering my post below.

Blouch has turbos that are direct bolt up with stock location and are larger and some cheaper than the new vf ones.

Christian, if your motor is stock stick with a sti vf turbo. Your stock inlet hose will be good enough and should fit fine.

^Lol. I've been really happy running my vf48 in mah bugeye! I'm sure that you could find about any of them on Nasioc. I went with 2008+ for lower mileage. Most vf39's, unless rebuilt, are more than likely pretty high in the mileage department.

The 48 also dosent have the problem with the cracking on the exhaust housing either from my understanding.
