I went to Discount Tire as I normally do an picked up a set of KM 685 District rims wrapped in Blizzak WS80's. FYI if any of you purchase these rims, the valve stem is in a very awkward spot. They had to do some special maneuvering but got them in. I think they look awesome. I really enjoyed the Blizzaks on my 13 WRX and 15 STi, so looking forward to winter in the new Type RA!

    Edit*** I went with 18's.

Dang I just can't get a feel for the new STi's or WRX's (or even just the base model for that fact). I guess I lost aesthetic interest in 2008.

I can't seem to get like a Honda Accord out of my mind when I see this pic. But that's just me I guess. Love the Blizzaks!

You know, i used to always flame people for not driving their Subarus in the winter(and despite rear wheel drive, i still do drive mine all year).

But I honestly don’t think that i could drive this in the winter. Funny how that works.

OT, but how do you like the brz in the winter? More specifically, how intrusive is the traction control and to what extent can you disable it? Entertaining the idea of rallyxing a FR-S next season.

I dig it! The traction control makes it nearly feel as “controlled” as the WRX. Obviously, with the lack of the front wheels pulling while the back ones are pushing, it’s by no means identical. From my understanding, I haven’t turned it off fully yet, it’s pretty easy to turn it off and have total control.

Fwiw, the BRZ should have come with a rear window wiper. #wtftoyobaru?

So, no close-up pic of the "awkward spot"?

What comes to mind when you hear "wheel taint?"

Yeah, wouldn't drive it in the winter either and would have sized down to 17. Must not plan on keeping it is my guess that's the reason I drove my Launch Edition in the winter I knew I wasn't going to pay it off even though it was 1/1000 but 1/500 is like whoa, the rust monster is in gestation waiting...

I think it's kinda funny how black wheels on a black car make black rubber not really look black anymore.

Especially gloss black wheels. Gotta keep that Tire Wet handy!

I’m surprised to see that this car will be driven in the winter.

I wash my car pretty much once a week. Depending on weather of course. The brake pads on this are just like I remember. They generate a lot of dust. That may be the only other thing I do to this car. (Brake pads, mudflaps, taillights, and different pads)
The gold wheels make it nearly impossible to keep clean for more than a day.

Stopping power mods..... a little dust ain't gon hurt nothing. When I see cars with that brake dust up front, I applaud them. :)
