:eek3:Haha, thought you were local! We have a few events a year that would maybe be worth your trip down here. The 'Ice Races' in Orr, Mn. would probably be the closest for you, and the most involved as far as 'technical driving' goes. Other than that, we normally have a couple of summer events and fall also! So keep your eyes open on the events section. Firestone is a 'weekly' hangout, nothing worth driving all the way from Canada for! Lol.
Thanks . I actually stumbled onto this site while i was looking for a way to put an EG33 into my daily driver and saw that one of the members (Dao>?) Had done so. Still a toss up if i wanna throw in a EJ22T with a set of WRX heads or the EG33 though.
hey i'm in new brighton. i don't have any experience replacing springs, but if i'm available when you do it i'd be interested in helping out where i can. just shoot me a pm when it's gettin closer.
Yo, I'm new to the boards, clearly. I drive a completely stock (for now) 2003 WRX wagon that i got about a month ago, I have been wanting a WRX since I got in the seat of one and after driving a SHO for 2 years it is a great change of scenery.
So after my rant in the summer cruise thread I thought I should properly introduce myself. Hello, I am yet another Rich in the club. You can call me Corprin as this is my official nick name, or my handle 'wakaba' For those that don't know, wakaba is a Japanese term for a new driver. I am sure you have seen the marks on the JDM fan boi cars out there (yellow/green shield magnet) I am currently stationed about 45min outside of Tokyo with the army for the next...oh 92 days. Upon which time I will be returning to civilian life in the Twin Cities where I have just returned from. My wife and two cats are already situated in St. Paul where we will be till we find a house. She is near Lexington and 94, so if you see a midnight black bugeye wagon... that is her. I am an official car junky, and have owned quite a few in my time. My current garage consists of; '02 WRX wagon - Wife's DD Stock for now, short of the remote start (I spoil my wife) '98 Neon R/T base - My DD Well warmed over, and salvaged thanks to a SUV '74 MGB - my summer car '82 "Classic" Mini - Wife's summer car '96 Mitsu Legnum VR4 - twin turbo, awd, ayc, 290hp, modded, Japan DD '02 Ducati Monster 900ie - Last of the 900's, first of the ST frame, and 1 of 50 produced in blue. I have been racing Auto-X, drifting, canyon runs, open track events, beating 'hummers' on some wicked roads, 4-wheeling, and any form of automotive idiocracy you can come up with for the past...oh 14 years. I have attended Skip Barber at Laguna Seca, and was a chassis fabricator for a NATCC and T2 team, attended a number of state and federal law enforcement driving courses, and am an instructor of the same in the Army. I now spend my time surfing the intraweb, putting from junkyard to used parts shop looking for that jem, and riding my MTB (oh yeah, I have a few of those too) Anyhoo... happy to be here, and happy to pick your brains. I know little about scooby's but I am here to learn, and here to wrench.
hi, im max's(grayguys) roomie. I'm a long time reader, first time member..... this morning max decided to make me a member so here i am. Thanks buddie:biggrin: lol but yeah, im a subaru lover in the closet, total newbie...I have a 96 impreza obs....but this summer i will be buying a manual, jsut not sure what i want and whats in my price range... I am here to learn and start turning some wrenches, if max permits it, lol.
Haha I would love for anyone to bug me about 240's. Thanks man! Apparently your supossed to bug me.. you planning on doing the swap too? You should!! Yeah! Nissan v8's ftw! Hmm, not ringing any bells. What party?
Howdy y'all. I'm new to the Subaru community. I've driven a lot of VWs and always lusted after WRXs. I never thought I would own one until the "Deal Of The Century" came around. Driving is fun again! I am fast becoming a loyalist. I live in Minneapolis with my wife, and work at tpt in St. Paul. I've seen a few of you on the autopiste and I'm sure I hear at least 3 of you guys every night from my apartment. I can't wait to meet some of you in person at various meets etc. Nice community!
Lets see here.... My real name is Jeremy but most who know me call me Bam. I work at Maserati/Bentley of Minneapolis. I have been a car whore since I was a wee tot and its only gotten worse as the years have gone by. I live in the west burbs but am looking for a new place. I started out as a vw guy but have since graduated into a all around car guy. I get to drive a bunch of different cars because of my job and have found that there is no singular maker who is the king of the hill. When im not driving im usually playing hockey, hunting, fishing, or doing any number of random things. I have been through a law enforcement school so I know how not to get thrown in jail/tickets. i would love to tell you more but must get back to work, there is a Gran Turismo calling my name from the other side of the room and I need to answer....
New Kids on the Block Hey i just bought a 1998 impreza sedan w a 5 speed a pick it up from Colorado in a week just though i would say what is going on i plan on doing a swap to a 2.2 turbo though i am unsure of what tranny i should slide in who knows i shall see how things go
Here I am! Finally decided to join up after a little prodding from some folks over at www. subaruforester.org. We're across the border in Wisconsin just a few miles east of La Crosse. After reading the threads about the La Crosse meet last year, I'm kicking myself for not joining up sooner. D'oh! We're also just a mile or so from the La Crosse Interstate Speedway so I hope to catch a couple of those events and see some of you guys and girls win! I actually participated in the very first one, which was an impromptu event held during the annual Mopar show in late spring - this was when they were testing the waters to see if the format was going to work. Guess it did! On to the important stuff - cars: Me - MY04 FXT, 5 speed, Aspen White, stock except for some Ferrari paint Her - MY08 Legacy SE, 5 speed, Diamond Gray Metallic, also stock. Anyway, hope you don't mind a couple cheeseheads hanging around. I'm up to the cities all the time for work and hope to bump into you folks every once in a while.
I suppose I should introduce myself on here. I went to the ice races this year with Bee and Matt. My name is Sean and I drive a lancer, I know its gay. The first car I owned was a subaru.
Hey everyone, I just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Steve and I'm driving a MY05 Forester XT with a few mods on it. I'm working on my own Enginuity stage2 flash for it as well. It's running: Helix DP, STI up, WBR intermediate pipe, Prodrive y-pipe, and a K&N panel filter so far as the major power mods. Most of the mods on it are updated in my VBGarage on here already. I'm hoping to do some suspension mods here soon to it though, it is a bit of a wallowy boat! I'm currently living in Charlotte, NC but I am originally from Rochester, MN and am planning on moving back around early March after some eye surgery. Hoping to meet some locals and get involved in the Subaru scene back in my home town. I just graduated college with a double major in Chemistry and Plant Biology and am going to be reapplying to dental school again next year (didn't make it this year even though I had some interviews). I got started modding cars with DSM's and had a really nice black '99 2g GSX that was sporting a gt3076r, magnus SMIM, full 3" exhaust, dsmlink, etc, but it wasn't a practical car for me to be driving on a daily basis, and in addition to me having to work on it all the time I got sick of it and sold it for the Forester. Anyways, looking forward to meeting some locals! And yeah, I came here from www.subaruforester.org with some suggestions from the guys over there. EDIT: Here's the direct link to my VBGarage: http://mnsubaru.com/forums/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=3327 -Steve
I suppose I can introduce myself as well. Obviously by my screen name you can tell I am interested in rally, my husband co drives for Jim Cox in the Bluck. I co-drive for Amy usually. I currently drive either our Audi or our VW (or the conversion van) but am interested in getting a subaru again. The first car that I had, back in high school was a 1979 Subaru wagon. I hated that car. Now I think about what a cool historic rally car it would have made. I taught my two year old to say "my mommy needs a subaru" It is cute! Oh yeah, my real name is Carrie Carlson
welcome, the trick with your kid is classic. and yes, get another subaru! welcome to all the new users, hope to see you guys come out and start meeting us all
Hello everyone, my name is dwaine. I live in st louis park. I just picked up a stock silver 02 wrx. I,m putting an aftermarket up pipe in this week though. I,m 31 years old, married with a kid on the way.
