Welcome man. Lots of great information on this site along with many helpful members. Sounds like a Subaru may be in your future as well...
Well sweet. Thanks for the warm welcomes. If I've learned one thing while trolling the boards the past few days, is that you suby guys have your own lingo. I swear you've got an abbreviation for everything! I can tell I've got a lot to learn
When I first started, lots of google-ing the lingo... FTL?FTW? IBFTL? http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com ^ hopefully this can help a little, and your going to have to catch on to somethings haha Welcome!
haha I've got my forum lingo/text lingo down well. I was talking more about this kinda stuff http://www.rs25.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61213 But since I've got that thread, I so I should be ok...just slow And Wolf, who's havin a bbq?!
Haha Welcome bro! I used to own a 2g myself talon Tsi awd 95 with a 14b everything else stock. Once you get in a subaru you will never want any other car. Although I am still dreaming of a 6bolt swapped 2g project car I hope to have one day. Dsms are sexy ass cars
Welcome, Brian. I'm a 2g DSM convert as well! I'm NOT going back!! haha BTW: My 07 WRX is for sale! Also--Good job getting the Barcelona Red Pearl to NOT look purple. EDIT: That's right, they had a copper color in 98. My bad. lol
new member hey everyone my name is rob, to give you some background i have a green 96 audi a4. over this last fall i started to get into rally cross, my first event was the dirty jack o'lanters down in cannon falls and i placed 2nd in my division. I then did a winter rally school that was heald up in pease, mn. I chated with several people who are on here since it was mainly suby's up there and 2 audi's. well i am very interested in rallying and need to get into it more, however my audi is paid for and is not worth that much it also costs an arm and a leg to fix. I am also going to dunwoody for auto and my buddies and i want to get a car to fix up for myself, so i need to find a cheep suby, most likey a shell and set the car up for rallying. thats a little bit about me, thanks for taking the time -Rob
Hey Rob. You're goin to have a lot of fun modding the suby. It's like legos! It can get spendy though, but fun! There are a few guys who are modding the car similar to what you intend to do. I'll be welded a read diff for Mr. Grimm (GrimmSpeed) today for his rally car. It'll be LOTS of fun for him with that.
Hey everyone! Just made an account a day or two ago after a couple months of quietly lurking the forums. I don't currently drive a WRX, but hopefully that'll change real soon  Anyway, whether or not it really matters, I'm a college student and working full time. I live in Grand Forks, ND...yeah I'm not a Minnesota resident, but this is such a great resource and community, I couldn't resist joining. Grand Forks is close enough anyway, right? Oh, and my name is Justin.
Welcome, j4ngl35! I see you're already interested in one of the WRXs for sale on this site. Good luck with finding a car, and be sure to check out the events section of this site. We don't normally get up to the ND way, though. There is another dude on here - forget his name - who is also from there. Anyway, welcome. :wavey:
Welcome Rob. Yeah, that was fun up there in the blizzard for the school, huh? Well, it was a blizzard during tech at least. BTW, I was the guy that was teching cars. I hope you can make it out to some events this year. We have 8 scheduled throughout the year this year which we will be posting up soon. Good luck in finding a Suby. They are fun. I don't own one myself, but I got to drive ScandiaWRX's at one of the rallys a few years back and it was pretty fun (I think I got her hooked as she was in the passenger seat giggling the whole time). -Erik D
Thanks for the welcome! I've always been a big car nut, hell I had my diapers changed in all sorts of hot rods and such as a little one  Just in the past couple years I've gained interest in WRXs, awesome cars! No big deal if you guys don't make it up here, I'd be more than willing to drive a while for an auto-related event. My dad and I have driven down to the twin cities for the Car Craft Summer Nationals, for example, so no big deal to me. Anywho, can't wait to get my hands on a Subie!
Hello! I'm here because I'm fairly set on buying a bugeye impreza wagon or legacy/legacy outback for my next daily beater. Some may vaguely remember my username from mnautox or eurowerks. Here are my current vehicles. '82 VW rabbit turbodiesel. '94 Saab 900. NA. '91 Saab 9000. NA. The plan is to sell both saabs come summer (my rabbit is a summer car), and as mentioned, pick up a subaru of some sort, or maybe another saab 900. (turbo, this time) I'm very surprised at how cheap subarus are getting...there's an 03 outback sport on CL right now for $2500. I lust for something awd that I can do stupid stuff on a frozen lake with. -Devan
First post I figure it makes the most sense to have my first post in the intro thread... so hello! My Subaru story: I bought an '07 Impreza back in 2006 assuming I'd eventually get the WRX... I couldn't wait long so a year later, I traded it in for the '07 WRX Ltd. I have today. Since that trade, I've put in an SPT intake, SPT exhaust (downpipe and tune planned for this spring) and an STI intercooler. My finance is occassionally on this site getting info for me so I figure it's about time I get my own profile. He drives an EVO so my ultimate goal is just to have my WRX keep up!
Newb from Plymouth Hi Folks, Reporting in from Plymouth. Just got me a 2002 Fozy S. Been on this board for a while but did not post up as i had no car. I am also registered on subaruforester.org as 'halfaxle' . Have tons of questions to ask. Will do a search first and then post on appropriate forum. Rahul
oh yea, youre in the deep south im located schmidt lake rd and 169. almost in maple grove. last overpass of plymouth.
Wow, you're very close to me. I live right across 55 from Kare 11. Hamradio, I love your Rabbit. My parents had a dark grey one just like yours growing up. Wish we still had that car, it was a great little vehicle.
WOW ..I am in Subaru land...I've been spottings all kinds of Subaru's since i got my Forester. Do you guys meet up regularly? Would love to join in !! And oh my 90K miles service is almost due and all i have is a 22Pc Metric Socket Set and a pair of pliers
A co-worker of mine mentioned it to me a few days ago... After I got into my Forester he has started to notice them. Before that, I guess he didn't notice one.
not really. you just tend to notice cars you care about and ignore the rest. just seems like there may be more. I personally notice subarus civic hatches porsches BMWs and buicks. Mostly cuz i either own one or want to own one, except buicks, i have a deep rooted hatred of buicks.
New member here, I'm a DSM guy, but love anything AWD with a turbo. I have a 94 Talon and a 97 Avenger for a daily driver, but looking to upgrade to a WRX soon.
Alot of dsm drivers found refuge here haha including me. We have one regular dsm dude on here now. His s/n is cmspaz. Post some pics!
I'm still a DSM owner, and MitsuStyle member, but I decided that I would park the Talon and turn it into a project (fp3076HTA, shep stage 4, E85, etc.) And trade my DD Avenger for a WRX.
