Hello and greetings to one and all! I bought my first Subie last month in Memphis and brought it back home here and I joined the board shortly after. It's an '08 WRB STi. Dream Car... Pics are up in my albums on my profile. http://mnsubaru.com/forums/member.php?u=3987 Tinted the windows, debadged, and adding a clear bra tomorrow. I've got a few plans in the mix for future mods. TBE, Audio, a flash by Bullwinkle after I meet him and learn a thing or two from him, new rims (Advan RSs or the Rota G-Forces 18x9 or 8.5 - I'm not sure how well they'll fit, anyone have any experience stuffing either of these on an '08-'09?). Anyone interested in my Gold BBSs (18x8 5x114.3)? I've been to a couple of the Friday Night Firestone MeetUps and have met a good group of peeps there. What up? Zisson33, Sheen, Fuji, Droo, and a bunch of others that I don't remember their names. I'm trying to make it to a Tuesday Night MeetUp at Calhoun. How about a Subie Cruise some weekend, maybe out to Stillwater, Cannon Falls, Red Wing, or Duluth? I'm also into snowboarding and mountain biking and will be more than happy to meet up other MNSubaru folks interested in going out riding. PM me... So far this board is great, very entertaining and informative. And I look forward to getting more involved in the local Subie community. Take care everyone! -=JeremyO=- PeaceAndBeWild!
From the mountains to Minnesota Back in MN from Lake Tahoe area. Wife is going to law school at the U of M so she can get me out of the trouble I get in with my car(JK). I will miss having the sierra mountains as my back yard to rally around in(think northern nevada rally). I'm always down for ripping some dirty backroads but not into the whole oraganized/competing rally thing. Just dirt and friends is what it's all about. I tune my car with romraider so maybe if bullwinkle gets too busy I can help some people out. I have an 06 wrx sedan with the following mods: vf39-pnp cobb TBE headers-pnp CSS big TMIC Injen CAI TGV deletes walbro 255lph Intake manifold-pnp/ceramic coated Perrin crank pulley/ turbo inlet/ catch can lots of gauges for tuning mishimoto aluminum radiator/fans/hoses Primitive racing front and rear skid plates(the beefy ones) 15" team dynamics pro race dirt wheels(black and chipped up) with bald a$$ blizzaks (anyone have any dirt tires for sale?) Custom tuned and beats stage two STI's
Oh by the way since I can't look on the for sale forum, I'm looking for some 17" wheels so I can take my 15" gravel wheels off for the summer. If anyone knows anyone with anything for sale maybe they could pm me. gracias amigos!
^^^ it was awesome meeting you the other day at Calhoun (i was the guy that drove the blue bugeye and went to USC) I'll keep a look out for you for wheels. Also, think about signing up for MNSOC, it'll get you great access asap. Pm me for details if you're interested.
Hey man. Welcome!! Always good to have more tuning minds around . Tony has a great point. Depending on how much you think you'll be involved around here, you might benefit from purchasing a MNSOC membership. Here's the basic membership thread, otherwise you can PM any of the Moderators or MNSOC officers anytime!
needboxer, cuz I don't have one yet I just learned about mnsubaru.com from a guy who was parked at my office building taking pics of his Blue 08 STI with (i think) gold BBS's (can't remember for sure). He told me his screen name and his first name but I'm terrible at remembering names, so hello to you, sorry I forgot your name. I'm also pretty sure I know "carl", I went to school with a Carl that had an Blue 04 STi that I believe he rallyed/rallys. If that's you Carl, hello! I've really liked Subaru's for about 5-6 years, ever since I understood the engineering that goes into them. I don't have a Subaru, I wanted to buy an 05 Impreza 2.5RS with the sport package, but due to external situations I have an 05 Aerio SX 5spd. It's a decent car but I'm going to be buying some manual transmission Impreza (preferably a wagon) as soon as it's humanly possible. Getting an Impreza (hopefully the new STI) has been my ultimate inspiration to complete my education and get a good job. A GC would be great due to the light weight, but a GD would probably be a better choice because I wouldn't have the time and money to do work on it for probably at least 6-12 months. A brand new Impreza would also be great too, damn warranties keep the go fast bits away though EDIT: I just looked through the last few pages and noticed that it was jolson05 above that I spoke with, hey man!
Hey guys, I live in Mankato and drive an 05' Forerster 2.5xs that I picked up in October. Bought it for a family hauler since my fiance had a baby last week. Don't really know anything about this sort of vehicle...to much electrical crap. I'm used to my jeep stuff but more than willing to try this Subaru thing out.
Welcome! Most Jeep owners find it to be an easy transition into subarus: http://jalopnik.com/5240271/2009-subaru-forester-unsupervised-off+road-mayhem
Well i guess im the new "new guy". I drive a '04 white/gold sti. I have owned it for 3 years now and the only mod is the crack in the windshield (thanks to a semi on hwy 10), and i just havent had the extra cash to get it fixed. Im shure that i have seen/waved at many of you on the local hwys, anyways just wanted to say hi.
Welcome! Also, if you have full coverage, most likely the glass is covered with a $0 deductible (as its illegal to drive with a broken windshield)
Yea i knows its illegal, and im wating to get that fix-it ticket any day now. Fortunatly the car is payed off, but unfortunatly i dont have full coverage. being out of work atm i cant afford anything but liability
Aw snap. lol Find someone with a white car of the same year with full coverage. don't try this at home, kiddies.
How much are you paying for insurance? I also have a white 04' sti and my insurance is pretty cheap for full coverage.
To be honest with you i dont really remember what it cost me. I just payed for 6 months a while back, but i think it broke down to around $60 a month for liability. Im 27 with a clean driving record so its not that expensive. I got most of my irresponsable driving out of the way in my youth in the 'ol monte carlo and the 240sx, so id like to believe that i learned a lesson or three (2 careless driving, 1 speeding ticket). Too many cars into the impound lot so i baby the suby, saves me some money in insurance, tickets, and the ever sooo expensive impound/towing charges.
Hello Yall. I don't drive a subaru, but I am looking for one. Either a Legacy GT sedan or a WRX wagon. I like manuals. I can't wait till I am whipping a subie.
Welcome! Just a heads up if you wanted a turbo LGT you know the only year they came in a manual was 05 right? Sweet cars though I'd love one myself, let one slip that I should have picked up ...
Welcome! Are you new to Blaine? It seems as though there has been quite a few "new" people showing up in this area. Pretty sure it was you I gave a thumbs up to while riding my motorcycle a couple days ago(see spotted thread) And hello to all the other recent additions to this fine site
This will be my second year living in Blaine. If you ever drive down 109th then you are bound to see me at the hwy 65 intersection from time to time, i drop my gf off at work every day and pick her up when shes done. Are you the proud owner of the '04 or '05 silver suby i see on 109th? I know i see one of the salesman from Brooklyn Park subaru driving a silver one from time to time on 109th. P.S. Im pretty shure that was me that you saw off of 65 and 99th

Rory

Hello, My name is Kyle. I've been kinda lurking on and off for about a month. I just recently picked up a 2005 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT. I'm digging the car big time, but it needs a bit of help. This turbo thing is Reeeally new to me and I'm kinda getting hooked on it!
