    welcome

+1 on the street racing, we don't speak of it here.... in the world wide web of searchable data  for the same reason that bank robbers don't have a forum and YOUtube video channel.

Really? Thanks.;) Im really just curious about if anyone has found this site via regular club stickers or mnsoc stickers etc. I've mentioned the site to many people and it would be neat to see if anyone else joined after being told about it by a comeplete stranger. Not really asking for "Hi my name is----and i found this site on the internet without using rocket science".

^I met 02aspenwhite in a parking lot, he was admiring my car and I told him all about the site!

If you tell them, they will come!

Cool, I like hearing when new people are encouraged to join from current members. I try to mention the site to people I think may enjoy/benefit from it.

    I don't get it.

    Welcome new kids.

    I'm new. I got problems

I guess i am an official newbie. I have a transmission problem and a friend recommended i post my situation on here for some quality feedback. (I don't know my friend's screenname, but i call him 'The Butcher' for his chops)

My '99 30th Anniv. (2.2 SOHC) Legacy Wagon'sautomatic won't engage into the drive gears.. Sometimes it does right away. Sometimes there is an unknown wait time. Reverse is fine.

I've sought the advice of a mechanic who described the problem as a piston within the trans. that more than likely is leaking. I don't doubt his diagnosis.
He suggested finding and swapping a used transmission as the most cost effective solution. I've spoken to a few others and that seems to be the consensus on this.

I've located a transmission but haven't picked it up, yet. Before i do, i was wondering if anyone on here might know of a mechanic they can refer me to that has some prior experience with installing a transmission to a model like mine.. Or, has already been thru this themselves..

Thanks. I need to signout now, but if anyone out there has any suggestions or additional feedback, maybe u could email me. I'd appreciate it.

Hi folks figured I should introduce myself. I've had a couple of Subarus wagons around for a while. Just joined the club because I used the Rockauto discount code to buy some parts for a Protege5 I'm prepping to sell and the savings was basically equal to the membership dues.

Joined the forum because I bought an '05 Outback XT to replace my '00 Legacy Outback and am going to Stage 2 it and see how it goes. Love to see how some of the Stage 3+ Legacies and Outbacks around the area perform, as in the back of my mind I want the Outback to be a sleeper. Figure if get a bigger turbo, FMIC, and supporting mods, I can get rid of the hood scoop, get rid of the XT badge and have some fun.

Motorcycles are what I really like to play with and on and I'm a State Director for the MN-MSTA

Welcome! If you've gotten a membership, you should inform WRX1 to change your profile to member status. It will open up some forums, and you will be able to post in the Member For Sale threads.

welcome, got to love the bugeyes.

while you are waiting for money spend some time seeing what other people have done to their cars. this may help you save money by not buying pointless or useless mods when the money could be spent elsewhere.

Got the motors at my mechanic.

The C model crank looks bad and one of the pistons is shot.

The D model has got a destroyed rod. The bottom end isn't apart yet to know how the crank is.

I think in the end, I'll just have a pile of parts, without enough between the two motors to put one together.

Drop me a note if you want any parts.

Welcome Erik, any pics of the new ride? Where did you get the car. I bought a 05 STI a few months ago and I had a really hard time finding the right car. The majority of the cars I found were out of state. Anyway have fun, this is a great site.

    Hihi!

    Hi everyone,
I am another newbie-subie driver. I drive an 04 WRX and LOVE IT. My dad got me into them back when he bought an 02 WRX wagon when the y first came out. I hope through this site to get some good advice on what steps I should start with to make some upgrades and what not, and its just great to find more people with the same passion and excitement for Subarus! I guess one of my first questions, is the other day I saw an 04-05 STi driving, and it had just the fog lights on, with out the head lights, and it looked awesome! Is there a way for me to do that on my WRX? Also, any recommendations as to where I could buy some of the blue lights to put in for the headlights and fog lamps?

    Keep on keepin' on all!

what fog lights... they must have been aftermarket, my sti doesnt have fog lights (unless u mean the parking lights)

if u want blueish headlights the best way to go is to convert to hids and get a lower temp bulb (8000k looks pretty blue, but the bluer they look, the less u see)

P.S. Where did u take that picture of ur car, cool graffiti location!

    Thanks Rex,
What's the deal on the meets?

    Bora-
Now that you mention it, I realized that STi's don't come with fog lamps...so they must have been after market. Oh well... I took that photo in a parking lot in Mpls. that is kind of a graffiti sanctuary you could say. I am going to try and get a few more photos up soon. Thanks for the help!

Hello all, I'm out here in Rockford, MN

Just wanted to say Hi. I just aquired an 04 WRX wagon. I used to have an 02 WRX, traded it in on a new 05 OBXT. I've got 70K on my OBXT and love it. Wife wanted something that did better in the winter then her 08 Mazda 3, just happen to find this car.

Been a member of Nasioc since I had my 02 WRX, then joined up with LegactGT when I got my OBXT. Been working on Turboed cars since 96-97 when me and another guy started the MN DSM club. The WRX, OBXT, and the DSMS all have tha same parts just in a diffrent congifuration, so working on them isn't much diffrent. Until now, when the new 04 has been throwing the good ole 0420 code.

BTW: Hello to all the MNSBR people...

    I'm Dan.. I drive a 04' Forester 6speed Xti w/ 350awhp and a 2007 Forester 4eat w/ 250 awhp.
