Alright guys and ladies if you're thinking about coming and haven't signed up please do it quickly as there are only a limited number of seats available. Also if you're looking to make any modifications prior to this event I recommend completing the changes at least 1 week prior to the event so you can maximize your seat time and take full advantage of the event and resources we'll have available to help you. Please do not hesitate to reach out to the NF staff with any tuning, mechanical or vehicle related questions. And reach out to me with any driving questions and I'll do my best to respond back in a timely faahion. Thanks again!

I found this from another forum, I hope it helps give you some direction on where to start:

"In so many cases over the years I've seen soo many people make learning how to drive fast a lot harder then it truely is. From a very basic fundamental stand point we really just need a very basic understanding and simple skill sets to get us going. And much later in your driving career you'll find that you become even more dependent on these same basic skills to help you go even faster to win and to continue winnng over the competition.

Everything starts with your eyes, and often we hear people tell use to look ahead, look up, look thru the turn and more. Looking is important but what's more important is knowing how to look, seeing what exactly you're looking at, what you're looking for. How quick is your visual technique, how much detail/data are you bringing into your CPU.

Sensory: The way we're naturally built for most of us we can feel when we're leaning off balance. We can feel gravity and we response instinctively, not always correctly but we do notice these changes. Developing a heighten level of sensory will allow you to drive hard, fast and maintain the thread, stretching it and then pulling it back before it suddenly breaks.

Audio: Learning to listen to how the car is playing on the field will quickly give you the indicators you'll need when you're trying to juggle the car around the track. Really good drivers can assess their driving just by listening to their driving.

We are not talking about teaching a Teenager here who has never driven a car before. Most of us have many years under our belts. To learn to drive fast we just need to stop thinking about going fast and just learn to teach ourselves how to look, feel and listen. The reality is the faster you go the slower and less you do behind the wheel. I don't even introduce the concept of driving lines to my students until they can show me they're awake and aware of their surroundings. All the advance driving technquies and concepts won't do you anything when you dont have the ability to be consistent and being consistent means consistently redefining the happy balance we call the limit."

Those are not black gloves, they're evidence that your car has a very dark heart and is very dirty. It's a good thing I didn't have to reach in that much further to fix the problem. And just so you know your car's a boy, so stop giving him girly names.

Hey I use to be a lot taller then you fooo, why you photo chop this picture. Sure make me the little guy.

Not exactly, for PHI sake I won't be able to share the details, but we are monitoring him quarterly. He referred me to you, he said he had some concerns about the way you've been walking lately. Give my office a call and we'll get you in right away.

Just thinking out loud, but a "what to bring" list would be helpful for new folks. IE tire gauge, water, numbers (if necessary), full tank of gas, air tank/portable compressor, sunscreen, comfortable shoes, magic go-fast dust, etc.

I usually bring fluids (human and car), jack + stands, torque wrench, tool box, paper towels, gloves and other randomness from the garage.

Is there an E85 station near the track?

My suggestion for tire pressures, it is easier to start high and bleed air than start low and fill up. A bicycle pump will work great for a couple of pounds, anymore than that, and you can skip the gym.
    Things to bring:
    tire gauge
torque wrench/key for the locking lug nuts you bought
    basic tools if available
    jack and stands if available
    extra automobile fluids (oil/trans/brake/cooling)
comfortable shoes (something other than "driving shoes" if we are to be walking around)
sun screen and something to wipe the excess off your hands
    sunglasses
    water for personal hydration
rain gear (even if the chance is low being dry is fantastic)
dress warm and layer. easier to take off layers to cool down than to not have enough and be cold.

Most of this will fit into a rubbermaid bin. Makes toting stuff back and forth much easier.

    Thanks MNGman for your input.

We will have a fully staffed pit crew with all the tools, air compressors, jacks, stands, general fluids and experts on hand. We will also be providing lots of FREE fluids for your body.

All I would ask is that all our drivers/particpants do a twice over on your vehicles the night before coming out in addition to having the car inspected by NF or a reputable shop. Come with an open mind and make sure you hydrate lots of water, because there will be a drivers memory test at the end of the event. :coffee:

Keep in mind, those who would like their vehicles to be inspected, to contact me

We can change your vehicle's fluid (motor oil, transmission fluid, coolant, brake fluid) if you like. PM me for pricing.
Btw, we have Subaru's Extra-S ready to be filled and ATE Blue brake fluid.

And those running E85, I suggest you bring a 5 gallon of E85.

Good call - when I went to the PDX back in October, I burned through about a half tank in just half the day and had to make a run to fill up. And I'm still on 93.

It's officially two more weeks left before the event. Please return the tech sheet questionnaire back to Nuke asap. With the weather starting to warm up there is plenty of time to start finishing any last minute "To Do's" on your list prior to the event, but don't wait till the last minute. We want everyone to have a reliable and functional vehicle at our event without or with as little mechanical issues as possible and have made arrangements to help you tech your vehicles and answer any questions you may have. Again please DO NOT make any additional changes or modifications to your vehicle a week prior to the event. You're vehicles maintenance should be your #1 priority.

We will help you find the weak link in the equation and we will help you enhance it whether it's the driver or your vehicle. These are building blocks and we'd hope your experience with us will help you get that much closer to your destination.

Secondly if you're interesting in volunteering at our event please feel free to contact myself thru pm or email [email protected]. We would love to see more enthusiasts get into the sport and there's no better way then to get involved.

At NF Performance we believe that success start with surrounding yourself with the right people.

Many thanks Ben, we always apprecaite your talents out there at the track. I know you'll do your best to help capture what we may miss from the passenger seat. One small request, on that day please wear something bright and easy to identify so it may help the course workers and drivers. I will assign a buddy to be your shadow for the event.
