Enjoy yourselves, everyone. I am staring out the window watching the rain in Shanghai. ...trying to avoid the Bird Flu. ;-) I haven't even driven a car for over a week...3 more to go. Get to start looking into buying a new RS5 when I return, though. :-P

Here's a sample of what you can expect from our event. This was taken from the PDX event last Sunday. I had a chance to work with a young man who owned the Blue Subaru BRZ with nice sticky after market rubber and brakes. Enjoy.

    In car instructions

    Evo Mr.

This was with me playing with a Subaru friend on the track.

Dont worry we have an app for that. Besides I've always looked forward to poor road conditions when I'm starting my pre-season. A lot lower expectations, more forgiving and much easier on the car. You know what I'm thinking, if we get snow we better get a bunch otherwise don't waste our time. Either way there's a good reason why we love our Subaru's and why we love living in Minnesota. ;)

The videos from the rain @ DCTC last year looked like fun. I think rain will make it interesting.

Have no fear we have many options like Plan C, we'll provide Drifting 101 training. As you know the MAP PG event also includes a Drifting event.

I hope the instruction includes lessons in keeping a mid-engine, rear wheel drive car with no traction control and summer tires out of the weeds!

I didn't think that owning summer, winter, and all season tires would ever have a purpose...but I may need to throw on the summers and bring the all seasons just in case!

I am rocking my summer tires on Sunday. If for some reason it is snowing... I guess I'll be helping out instead of driving. I have no desire to take the track on my snow tires. However, I am game for running the track on my summers even if it is in the 40's.

I'm enjoying this weird MN weather as it keeps me on my toes. I stopped listening to the people who forecast the weather as they can't tell left from right. In our sport we drive in every condition, we don't wait for a perfectly sunny day to go out and have fun. We just learn to adapt to the conditions. Granted we're not going to be teaching you to become a professional driver anytime soon, but we will be teaching you those same skills and mentality to help enhance your current skills and hopefully increase your confidence to enable you to adapt to these same conditions as you go about your daily routine. Bring what you have and we'll make the most of it while having lots of fun.

I'm not too far from the shop, I'm down for a caravan. Some extra time in the car through the morning might help wake me up!

I'm down for meeting up, just let me know where and what time and I'll be there. If anyone wants to cruise down from the North Metro we could meet up north before heading down.

Would be nice to roll with you guys. I'm in Brooklyn Park. If you folks don't mind, I'd like to meet up with you and head down together. Plus, I have no clue where DCTC is.

    DCTC Address:

    1300 145th St E
    Rosemount, MN 55068

It's very easy to find, just go down hwy 77 past MOA, take a left on 42 and go all the way until you see the U of M Agricultural farms and you'll see DCTC on your right. Make a right on the second Big Sign.

Please do not speed or make lots of exhaust noise as the cops there love to hand out FREE tickets. The posted speed limit in that area once you've pasted the rail roads is 60 mph. We will be meeting in the Big Building for introductions. Please be there before 8am ct. or be square.

Damnit I should have picked a better location... Menards is putting an extra hour onto my trip, lol.

So we want to be there before 8am.
Menards to Holiday is 30 minutes. Google Maps
Holiday to the Track is 20 minutes. Google Maps

Then take into account how long it is going to take for all of us to top off with E85, and fill up 5 gallon jugs. It could easily take 20 minutes if we have 10+ cars.

Do we leave @ 6:45? Leave being the key word?

Why doesn't everyone just fill up before meeting? It is only saving 25 miles by stopping at that Holiday.

I'm seeing a 34 min straight drive. We could leave by 7:15 and have plenty of time. Or leave at 7 if people really want to stop for gas.

PS. I think your address for DCTC is wrong. It's 11min from the address Chong posted.

OR we could have a secondary meeting point right off 35E and 36 if the St. Paul guys don't want to drive all the way out there.

I know you aren't racing so you don't care as much. I would like as full of a tank of gas as possible for the day. Just like we did with BIR. Although it is only 8 miles away...

Weird, I copied what Chong put in there. I will fix that link. Now it says 12 minutes.

I thought about that but I am fine driving with everyone.

I'd say get a 5 gallon gas can of E85. That way if you or somebody else needs some your covered.

That is the plan. Full tank + 5 Gal Jug... but the 5 Gal jug is for me.
