    So, what is Project 11-B?
It's a 2011 Black WRX, owned by Ben (xluben) and it's fast.
Before I get into the mods, I'll let you know a little bit about the car itself.
Late 2010, Ben contacts me for a tune. All that was done to the car was a SPT catback. I suggested he waited. Instead, we went out for a data log and decided to tune it right there (lol!). Went from a stock tune to a Stage 1. Shortly after that, Ben decides to get a downpipe. Got her tuned up. Then intake, fuel pump, and an upgraded top mount. Got her settled. Then the new boost control system. Hit her up again. Now Ben takes a dive into the E85 with new injectors. His car turns 21 and is a booze hound! After suffering the notorious Subaru heatsoak, he decides to go with a FMIC. Great choice! Here are some of the results prior to the turbo upgrade.

As you can see, Ben's graphed out each of his tunes and the differences.

    Engine mods:
    Stock motor (for now)
    Fast motorsports FMIC
    AEM Intake
    Five-O Motorsports 1200cc Injectors
    Walbro Fuel pump
    Full Invidia turboback
Grimmspeed 3port solenoid PLUS Grimmspeed Manual boost controller (Hybrid boost control)
    Air Pump Delete
    Blouch 20G XT-R
    E85
    Last but not least, Infected

Right before the turbo upgrade, Ben was rockin' the stock turbo. IMO, it was pretty damn fast!

This was at 24psi only. I wonder what it would look like if I was to crank it up...hm...

I've got to say, this is one mean ass stealth car. Don't F*** with it LOL.

A few things before I forget
Here's the plot before raising the boost
The wastegate actuator is supposely 19psi
So we ran the car, as is, with wastegate pressure
One thing to note, the timing on the map was just 1/3 degree lower than the stock turbo's tune and was based off of the stock turbo's e85 tune. So nothing really changed. Just the turbo.

The car felt totally different going from Wastegate pressure to 24psi.

Ben, you have a freakin' awesome car!

With some more tuning and power, this car will definitely hit low 11's with the right driver and tires.

Hey Nuke, thanks for the post! You really outdid yourself with this one. Glad my car finally has a name :) It's been a fun progression over the last year. I credit Nuke for putting ideas into my head. As it sits, the car is a ton of fun, and I'm enjoying every minute of it, but I don't know if the 5 speed would like going for 10's very much...

Jet engine. Jk, probably a built shortblock. Hopefully the stock one lasts long enough for me to get another one together.

Just for fun, here is a layover of the curves on top of a recent VF52 log that I had. Should be all the same parts besides the turbo (ie. same exhaust, both have FMIC, etc). This shows the difference in spool and powerband between the two turbo's.

The turbo does spool about 500rpm's slower than the VF52, but you can see that it's really never making less power, so it is still very driveable on the street. I am really enjoying it so far! The power is very linear and it just keeps pulling on the top end, where the VF52 fell off. It is very addicting! :)

Thanks again to Nuke for tuning me and helping me out all along the way!

Wow, after seeing the new turbo in on Friday I can't wait to get a ride in it Ben..... but maybe I shouldn't..... because then I will feel the need for more power! Not that it really matters, but have you noticed a difference in your MPGs?

Yeah I'll give you a ride whenever. Only have done one fill up so far. I really have not been driving lightly and it was 17MPG (better than I was normally getting with the stock turbo). I really think the mileage under normal use may end up being better because I am out of boost more with normal driving (because it spools later).

Very nice Ben. I want to see how long your block will last with this much power. I was affraid braking a piston when I build my 08, had to back down on power. Now I am getting infected again with a new 2011 :) and I promised not to do anything to it. Do I need to get in line for a ride :)

Now, more power can be had if we leaned it out. But I left the AFR where it's at for a few reasons ;)

I purchased a scoopless hood from an Impreza 2.5i shortly after I put on the FMIC. The car is lowered on BC Racing Inverted coilovers.

I have raised it up about an inch since the bike rack photo. I have also put on Gold 04 STi BBS wheels. Here are some photos with the "new" wheels:

Again, totally titts. Nice to see some sweet stuff I could do to my car if I decide to keep it at the end of the lease. I was recently trying to figure out if there were any BBS/STI wheels that would fit a 2011 WRX, now I know so thanks for pointing that out.

The 2004 BBS wheels will work, but one thing to keep in mind is that they're a half inch narrower than your stock wheels.

Ben, the car looks amazing. I may have to sign up for a ride as well. I've been in the same boat as Max, telling myself that I'm not going to do anything. Every time I read one of your posts the urge to stay stock dies a little bit more. ;)

    Update:

Project 11-B is still alive and well. Last weekend I sold the Q300 cat back because my wife thought it was too loud. Now the car has the stock exhaust back on. It is strangely quiet now, it feels like I have a rental car when I'm driving it, lol. It does still get loud once the EWG opens up though :)

Nuke and I did a log and, surprisingly, it still seems to be making similar power to the Invidia exhaust. The stock exhaust only appears to be a slight restriction at this power level. I am looking at picking up another exhaust (quiet, but a little louder than stock) sometime.

Here's a quick video I made of the car:

BTW, it still has the stock shortblock. I'm hoping to change this one of these days as well...

Dude... I would have traded you my SPT setup for your Q300.... :(

Those numbers are very interesting. I would have thought that the stock setup would be more of an influence on your setup.

I don't want a single tip :p And it's not like I traded it straight up. It was more like he bought it and gave me the stock exhaust for a slight discount, lol. I was also a bit surprised that the power didn't really drop any noticeable amount. The peak boost did go down by about 1psi, but the top end power still seems strong.

Yeah, also knowing you I figured you had it sitting around the house. I know you don't like to toss or sell that stuff. I was more or less giving you a hard time. I wouldn't expect you to trade straight up.... but it would be cool to dream about!

zero to the speed of sound in an eye blink! Great job Nuke! Ben, the car looks and sounds amazing:D I would have to say that it looks as fast or faster than the Ferrari 430 that i drove a couple of years ago...and at a fraction of a fraction of the cost!! Would love to see this beast at the LaXCruise this year;)

I actually traded my stock exhaust when I got the SPT and I had to take the stock exhaust off Lor's car when I sold him mine. But other than that I have all my stock parts piling up in my garage! Sorry I couldn't help you out, the quad tips would look great on your car!

I have a buddy with a handful of modern super cars. I think I might have to talk him into giving me a shot at some of them :)

I honestly think that the most impressive part of the 430 was the steering input and feel. That thing handled like an absolute dream. And the amount of attention from tha ladies while driving it down the highway as they'd pass. lol.

I had one of those riding shotgun with me. But that didn't slow down the ladies that were going nuts and waving at me despite the fact.:D

Dunno, with those BC coilovers, i bet it isn't too far off! The steering rack ratio may leave a lil to be desired tho. I think that you really did right by buying A+ quality parts with your build. There isn't a part on there that isn't top notch! Even the tuner...hahaha. We <3 you Nuke-e-poo.

Not the exhaust note? Fit and finish? Under body aero? I take it you didn't get on the brakes hard either then ;) Those cars are phenomenal in so many different ways.

Looks good Ben. Thought about gutting the stock muffler?
