All of that stuff was amazing too...but the handling left me in awe.

LOL. This actually made me laugh out loud. Didn't see it coming, but so true.

I think the only "mediocre" part in the build is probably the coilovers. They're good for what I want, but I doubt they'd compare with a high end coilover or supercar suspension. I don't think I have the driving skills to warrant anything better though. Nuke has done an excellent job suggesting parts for this build. I haven't purchased anything that didn't meet my expectations.

Nuke suggested it. I really want to keep it quiet though. I'm looking at getting a cat back that uses an OEM-style midpipe so that I could switch back to the stock muffler if I need to.

Yes, they're flawless. I can't wait to get them back on! :)

Yeah! Nuke gave me some pointers and it really helped. My weekend:

    FFS software doesn't work?

    .....FFS anyways!

Gutted is surprisingly very quiet. At least on the GD impreza. LGT was even more quiet, so I'd expect similar on a GR DIY gutted STi axleback

Thanks. I'll look into that. I assume it is slightly louder than stock, right?

EDIT: I actually read the post you linked to, and saw the answer. Thanks!

Yeah, I think this must be a sneaky new NF project...

I have a the following the following suspension items:
    • BC Racing Inverted Coilovers
    • Whiteline 22mm Adj. Front Sway Bar
    • Whiteline 22mm Adj. Rear Swaybar
    • RalliTEK HD Front Endlinks
    • RalliTEK HD Rear Endlinks
And I'm running the 04 STI BBS wheels with 235/45R17 Star Specs during the summer.

I don't have any other mods planned besides replacing the exhaust and a built shortblock.

I was referring more to your thoughts on the coilovers, were you thinking about upgrading them in the long run or switching to something along the lines of Koni/Ground Controls or sticking with the BCs? How have the Whitelines held up so far for you?

I think they're fine for what I'm doing right now. If my driving ability ever catches up to my car's power, then I'd probably consider going with something more expensive. When I was under the car swapping the exhaust last weekend all the suspension bits still looked to be in great shape.

Have you looked at Nameless Performance axel back exhaust? It's quad tips and uses stock midpipe.

I have a hard time going back to Whitelines. I liked the ones on my 02, but I was not a fan of the fact that their long term durability isn't the best.

I'm looking at eventually doing the RCE/Bilsteins with the matched swaybars.

What was wrong with the durability? Rust? Derek and I go to the drive through car wash and get the underbody sprayed off a couple times a week. I think that really helps reduce salt build up during the winter.

Yeah the bottom of my car looks great for 3 winters of use.. The Whiteline stuff looks new. They come with great bushings to replace the OEM ones. The main reason I say Whiteline is the rear brace for the roll bar. No other company does it for our cars. Look at what the OEM bars are connected to under your car vs. mine or Ben's. I am happy with my setup.

Hey mine are holding up fine, so are Ben's. Maybe it was something they fixed since he picked his up... that was 3+ years ago when he started the thread. This makes me think he picked up the bars 1+ years prior to that if they are rusting. So there is a good chance that something has changed in 4 - 6 years since he picked up his. I am a fan of Whiteline on my car. If you check 3Gwrx you'll see most 08+ owners are very happy with their Whiteline setups.

lol, it's all good man. It's hilarious to see all the denial. Just wait a couple years then they'll see why we powdercoat them, grease them down every oil change, and still call them rustline ;)

I don't think it is denial. Denial would indicate that something bad is happening. Instead we were just pointing out that issues that others have had in the past are not currently showing on our setups. It is possible that they are doomed to the same fate... it is also possilbe that Whiteline did what most companies do, and improved their product. I guess time will tell.

Stop taking this thread off track with so much denial.

BTW, I'll be in denial until my sway bars turn into oxidized dust and disintegrate.

They are definitely too new to determine as of now. I hope that you and Benski are mo lucky with the Whitelines(rustlines)lol. They MAY have in fact revamped their production methods! *fingers crossed* The simple fact is, in this area of the country, they will all fail over time, some just quicker than others!

And Ben, this thread was full of denial from the beginning.

I suppose I could, I am usually pretty brutal with regards to sock puppets. But I'll wait till the rest of the moderator peanut gallery chimes in with their thoughts.

    On Topic: Neat car.
