I'm a novice driver so I'm not too worried about out driving my car. Hopefully I can find these Federal tires and you can test them out and see what you think. Otherwise I will probably go with the Star Specs. It's not a dedicated track setup, so I'm not looking for the ultimate in track grip. Maybe next year I'll get a track specific set with really grippy tires.
But I heard you were the new poster boy for the new campaign But on a serious note I hear what you're saying, it's just that I'm quite familiar with mr. Nuke's tuning style and how the power is being delivered. IMO part of the reason why the Star Spec were able to hold for 4 laps was because on this vehicle the power was peaking after 6k revs allowing the car to get up to speed with less chance of breaking traction. Well if all fails turn down the juice.
Too much as in cars wearing too small of a tire for their vehicles power. Something I know you can speak very intelligently about lol
Here's a quick video of me running through the gears after the motor swap. Boost up to ~26psi peak (25psi redline). Revving it out to around 7k. It takes 4.42seconds to go from 50-100mph according to the video. The video from back when I was at ~23psi peak (20psi redline) took about 5.30seconds for 50-100.
I think it is your exhaust. You better trade me for my SPT setup so you can be faster Ben needs it this fast. He has to get the wife to the hospital in the next few days when the baby is born. He needs to make it there ASAP!
One can never watch too much Fast & Furious Dom...i mean Nuke. I don't get mad...i get even(except in HP #'s).
I'm not.... when you changing out trans and when am I finishing my car so we can re-run our first meet up?
2012 Summer Wheels! Went for the clean/OEM-style look. I opted for a 17x9" to save a little weight (vs. and 18x9.5"). I think they look great! Mach V Awesome Wheels - 17x9" @ 17.8lbs Dunlop Direzza Star Spec Tires - 255/40R17
Thanks guys. I think my car looks even more "stock" with these than with the gold BBS's. Hopefully it blends in with the crowd
I can't wait to be back in a Honda, although I was kind of looking forward to this summer in the WRX....
