I suddenly have no CEL in my car. It went out today for no good reason that I can tell. It's always had that P0420 code sitting in there. Can anyone tell me how to get it back ? I miss my CEL. Not having it makes the cabin dark.

Panic averted. It came back. Phew.

It actually came back on the way home on the 19th, but I didn't have the camera in the car again until today. Sorry to have kept everybody on tenterhooks in the mean time ;)

Don't you get tired of people coming on here whining about CELs ? I figured this would make a refreshing change.

Same topic, different car, opposite problem. I Had CEL for months - small Evap system leak. I replaced the rubber gasket on top of the tank - fuel smell inside car is now gone.

Found my OBDII scanner and cleared all seven of the codes, but the light is still on even though "no codes remain."

Am I going to have to bring it in to get scanned to figure out what is wrong?

    That's an easy fix...

A couple of small strips should cover it up nicely.

I get a phantom cel sometimes. Just got it Friday actually. No CEL, but the car won't boost past wastegate. Hook up a code reader, and it says NO DTCS FOUND. Press clear and it says CODE CLEARED SUCCESSFULLY. lol

Its confusing and slightly annoying. It only seems to happen when I have extra people in the car. Too much torque possibly?
