Close to 3 months of waiting. There's allot of parts on the way, back ordered and not in the aftermarket yet but at least the car is here! Lightning Red, Limited
Thanks! I likey! Gotta try and finish breaking it in this week. See if I can take it somewhat easy the first 1000 miles. Thing really doesn't like staying below 4k rpm. Since the last WRX only got 33k miles in 5 years we are thinking of doing it Ferris Bueller style. But that didn't work out so good.
Garage. its double deep as opposed to double wide. So my Nova is parked in the front. Weird set up from previous owner. Its insulated and they used some kind of particle board for the walls.
Bet your excited. If you don't like how the radio sounds try this. http://mnsubaru.com/threads/radio-head-unit-hidden-menu-and-adjustment-2015.46311/ What color did you order?
I'll have to try that. The radio didn't sound too bad on my test drive today but I was way too concentrated on driving. I ordered a crystal white pearl and it arrived today. My second choice was red. The car's presence in person is amazing
Congrats on the new ride @Noone and @DuckSauce. I really wish they would bring back the metallic red color for the wrx but the gloss red still looks mean against the dark rims!
No idea on the six speed. Wife wanted to somehow get a automatic this time even said she would pay the extra. LOL she never quite got the handle on a stick. I thought I would miss the stick. I have had several over the years. But I don't miss it one bit so far. Surprised how well it works. Actually kind of want to use the word shocked. At 370 miles I am trying to keep the rpms where they want but... might go over from time to time. Need to finish that so I can see what its really like. Options and extras on the car or on the way. Lightning Red Limited CVT Kicker audio upgrade Tint (not installed) Autostart (not installed) Aero Kit (back ordered) Should be ordering rims and tires this weekend. With someones auto trans money.
Yep had to wait till vacation to get some time to work on my cars. First week was constant running to get stuff on. Then I went to proving grounds.I also have a Nova which got a Ford 9 inch, rear disc brakes and battery relocated to the trunk. Still breaking it in can't wait to see what it's like. Back to the WRX. So far with the parts that came in here's what we have been able to put on. Auto start(yawn) Auto dim mirror(zzzzz) Tint with Eyebrow strip Front spoiler Weather Tech mats GRID's 18x9.5 +38 Speed Bronze Hankook Ventus V12 EVO 2 255/35/18 Still waiting on the rest of the Aero kit which is still back ordered. I have it all coming except for the rear diffuser under the exhaust thingy. Not much for pics yet but should get some next week with a real camera hopefully. I'll see what I have for pics right now. Love the car!
Getting more pics next week. Cant wait to get the rest of the aero parts on. Hope that will make it look the way I would like. The wheel opening is huge on this model. Makes 18's look small. I don't want to lower it with our winters.
Backed the cars out and did some detailing. First time. Big learning curve. Amazing how the paint pops! Two days work but really could tell the difference. Couldn't get any picks of the Nova do to sprinkling.
NEEDS MORE LOW!!! lol looks really nice. I think this is the first Red one I've seen on here. Are those grids? What're your wheel spec?
Yep photos and the new model don't work out well.. Car is lower than my 09 hatch was stock. There is not much room between the spoilers and the ground at all. I fear that lowering will lead to lots of body work. I do have the aero kit paid for when I ordered the car but Subaru hasn't made them yet. Still on back order. Hope that makes it better. The huge wheel wells make the cars look like they have a lift kit on. The opening is enormous. Subaru rolled the rear fenders also. Some have 19's no rubbing. Mine are Grid's 18x9.5+38 speed bronze. I forget the tire size. Down at car craft right now. Fun times!
Ya was more racing myself lol. I think that car was in the 10 second range. Got to love all the trailered in cars at a street legal. I was just doing it for fun. Trying to widdle my time down to what the testers were able to get out of the car stock. First time really drag racing. Showed improvement on every run. And there isn't much safer thing to learn on then an AWD car. Was a really good time!
Still working on that as funds allow. Something always comes up. Did manage to get a ford 9 inch in it this summer. Battery relocated to the trunk and disc brakes on the rear. Then something started squeaking in the engine.... haha. Its a endless cycle. Car needed more motor anyways. Mild 355 from the previous owner. I just wish it would have started acting funny before I did all those other things. The Nova is a Pro Touring build. More set up for modern handling and autocross then full on drag car. At least I know what I need to upgrade next time!
I've always wanted a hot rod with all of the modern amenities like suspension/brakes/etc. And to have that AND a 2015 WRX....living the dream my friend!
