eventually I would like to replace my exhaust from the cat back to get a little more volume from my Impreza sport. unfortunately my exhaust rattle is coming from the heat/rust shield on the catalytic converter so just replacing the catback wouldn't completely fix the issue. I'm going for reliability more so than performance so I’m a little concerned about replacing anything north of the catalytic converter and I'm completely unfamiliar with good Subaru exhaust brands (except Megan racing). I know they don't make a lot for the N/A models but I figured I’d ask before accidentally buying some Taiwan knockoff brand.
You should be able to find plenty of cat backs that will fit your car. As for the rattle, is it something you can bend/hammer on a little bit so that it stops rattling?
Maybe, if the boltheads hadn't rounded off I could have just unbolted that section of heat shield. the problem is if I bent it in I risk making it worse. I'm thinking about jacking up the side closest to the problem and just taking an angle grinder to cut the problem off at the bolts.
