Seriously just laughed out loud. Friend's dad had a 4 door Geo Metro. Totally stock mechanically, but was black cherry metallic with ghost flames, 13" Player wire wheels, custom front air dam, and massive wing on the top above the hatch (worry not, I'll find pics). We did a tune-up on it once and installed a 5" Gatornationals tach that had a shift light. It was hilarious. First thing I thought of when I read your comment.
Who's the high roller around here that bought this? https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2006-subaru-baja-5-speed/
Another fine example. https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/cto/d/cloquet-1995-chevy-silverado-hd-4wd/7447005363.html
Yeah it's been impossible to both sell the sportwagen and find a reasonably priced truck tight now. I've about given up
$19k?! Somebody sold this exact car on Minneapolis Craigslist for like $5k 2 years ago. Some grandma car that had like 50k miles or less.
Good lord. I think it was $8800 when I opened it with like an hour and a half left. Ended at over $14k...
If anybody's looking for a good laugh on a Saturday morning... https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/bar/d/saint-paul-2001-subaru-wrx-5spd-wagon/7457656752.html
yeah as someone who STILL thinks its one of the most underappreciated cars in history, its not that underappreciated.
If this thing was a 5 spd and maybe half the price... https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/ctd/d/burnsville-2004-subaru-outback-wagon/7486457605.html
Recent sales for Outbacks on Bring a Trailer with similar miles: $19k, 24k, 16k, 12k. Interestingly enough if you look back further before things went insane; A nice 5 speed sold for $5k.
