If you look at the bottom of the listing, every tag that has “WRX STI” says “WRX STI-SEE AD”. I ran the VIN and it appears to at one time to have been an actual STi as opposed to a WRX with some swap items.

That's what doesn't make sense. It's got almost everything an STi would have - full interior, correct dash, all the body work and accessories, still has the DCCD controller, looks like an HID adjustment knob, red intake manifold w/ STi intercooler. And while I was starting to type this I was like "well the Brembo's would be pretty obvious, too". So I went back and looked at the pics. It almost looks like the Brembo's are gone and it's like 04 WRX stock brakes that are painted gold. Really hard to tell because the wheels block so much and the PCs get grainy when you zoom, but they don't look nearly as massive as they should. And it almost looks like the "hoop" of a caliper bracket (which the Brembo's don't have). Kinda crazy.

Also noticed in the engine bay that the boost control solenoid cover is missing, there's some weird not-stock wire loom action going on by the MAF, the driver's side of the intercooler mounting bolt is missing, and the windshield washer reservoir isn't bolted into where it's supposed to be (sitting there, but isn't mounted properly). And I've never owned an STi and never really looked that close in person, but something about the red on the intake just seems slightly "off" to me. Maybe someone yanked the whole drivetrain and tried passing this off as a "clone" to someone that wouldn't catch those things until too late?

Dunno. Like I said, VIN shows STi. But it may be one of the only potential STi to WRX swaps that I’ve seen. Lmao

Reading through the ad on their website and it was confirmed that this is the biggest basket case of an STi with less than 30k on the clock that I’ve ever come across.

@Krazylegz1485 , you win the internets

Yeah, I have a buddy who used to work with him. But he’s shady, so my buddy no longer works with him.

I would steer clear of any of their stuff.

I think he's just saying that he has $11k worth of mods installed? Either way a great ad giving all sorts of information about the car.

I say DM him and ask if his buddies black hatch is for sale. Then tell him that it is a “serious inquiry”?

I'm really curious to know where the $11k went. Gauge pod, turbo back exhaust, an AccessPort, and some new wheels surely can't be that expensive.

He did say “supposedly the original owner put in $11,000.00 in upgrades”. To make it into a WR1, which I had to Google. It is possible that the original owner paid $9k for an ice blue metallic paint job? It just looks like PSM in his atrocious photographs. The best pic is a google image, lmfnao.
