I just thought I'd give the guy a free bump if it is the same guy. I knew I had read about one of these in the St. Cloud area before. If it's not then kudos to you?

I think it's that green sticker on the bumper = +500hp. I need to find one of those so I can add $37000 to the value of my girlfriends '97 wagon.

Just looked at it. Looks very clean (even has those OEM CF trim bits). Drives okay, haven't driven RS in a looong while and it seemed kinda gutless relative to a beaten-down SS, where I expected it to be on par.

I didn't feel like buying it without having a look at it on the lift, and the guy said that he thinks he'll sell it as is over the weekend and if I want mechanic to check it out I should call on monday....

Still in the coffee shop nearby thinking whether I should go back and buy it anyway. If I had a garage I would've bought it already :)

    Good luck getting it guys

Anything else? Timing belt? Headgasket? How's the clutch?

I'll let my friend know if he interested in this..... I don't know.

    Ok, here's what I know:
-Allegedly was owned by a mechanic who traded it for a Jeep.
-Claims to have done brakes recently (but rear rotors are pretty worn, so I'm guessing pads only).
-Owner thinks that the previous owner didn't have any problems with headgaskets, meaning they weren't done probably.
-Tires looked decent but I did not check if the matched/size
-Couple of curb-rash spots on the wheels.
-No engine codes were stored in the ECU,
-Some mild darkish residue on the walls of a coolant tank, no idea what it was.
    -Couple of fluids need changing.
-Suspension seemed original, and a bit worn in the back, also some metallic noises from rocking the back corners, but somewhere from the middle of the car =) I guess some heat shield.
-Valve covers looked dry and clean from the top, didn't have a good look from the bottom since my flashlight died while there.
-Timing cover looked clean, but when engine was idling there were some minor chirps seemingly from the timing area so no idea if the belts were done. Owner called the 'mechanic' but said couldn't get him and only left a message so no info on that right now.
-Jacking plate is covered in oil, so I'm guessing rear main leak and the clutch is original.
-Clutch pedal felt weird, slow to return and I didn't feel the clutch grab at all, seemed to grab at random spots =) (SS also has hydraulic clutch and I works fine, this one seems to need attention).
-Given that I did not feel where the clutch was grabbing I can't tell how did feel engaging. But I did try pulling the clutch pedal in while in 5th gear at 50mph letting the RPMs drop to idle, and sidestepping the clutch and looking at tachometer and feeling the car. I was pretty fast to get to original RPMs so I think clutch disk still has some life left.
-Some weird minor noises when you floor the engine. I didn't like those, but I'm too picky.
-It braked in straight line, brake booster tests (like pressing the pedal when engine is off etc) went fine.
-Its missing the intake breather. Didn't ask why...
-And like I said, it felt somewhat sluggish but that might be because I didn't drive RS in a while and didn't feel the clutch.
-Guy says he has a clean MN title in hand, I didn't check carfax though.
-Body looked straight, and nothing looked bent/signs of being bent in the past when you look under the front/rear bumper.
-Shifted decently, no grids it seems.
-Shifter bushings were either new or upgraded, felt very tight.
    Thats about all I checked
Make sure your friend checks it out quick though.

Saves me hella work finding some prices for my part-out, though. haha. (not that I'd use their prices, but at least it lets me know what's probably too high).

His keywords are longer than the actual ad and include everything from Lincoln to Edelbrock... I bet that will help his cause, oh and the fact that he replaced every mechanical part front and rear...

From what I've read 225's are a little wide for the stockers... and wider is not better when it comes to snow. Just my .02

Seems like a good deal...not an expensive wheel by any means, but might be a good winter setup?

Anyone heard of these? I did some research and got some NASIOC threads with people rockin' these. Doesn't seem to be any really bad reviews.

That's a very decent snow tire package. We put Kazera wheels on people looking for lower cost winter wheel/tire packages at Lexus. They seem to hold up well.

There are some very important details missing from that posting. Assuming the wheels are dual bolt pattern like in the picture, I'd want to know the wheel width and offset as well as the tire depth. Assuming the width and offset work for your application and the tires have 6/32 or more, I would consider it a good deal.
