    Nice, looking to change up already? Is it a sedan? I've seen a white '02 sedan in a driveway a block over the past few weeks, looks pretty sharp from the drive by. Wonder if its the one for sale?

    What do you guys think about this, it is pretty damn ugly, but I am looking for a reliable car to get me through grad school (until i make the big bucks and can afford a wrx) with cheap insurance... Could this be a winner? I realize the price is a bit high, but anything else I should look for?

    Hrm... "I did all the tune up". I'd be wary about that. Ask them what they all did during the tuneup, check for receipts (but for 2900, you might not want to be TOO picky. That looks like a decent deal.)

    "K&N air filter." Usually I'd say people who use their cars as nothing more than grocery getters don't get these. Check if it's cone-type or just a stock box filter. If it's the cone type, check for exhaust smoke or oil leaks.

    These are just the things I'd check for aside from the normal stuff :) I'm sure other guys on here have a more detailed list of things that could be wrong with it!

    Looks like a good deal though - hope it works out for ya.

    100k is time for water pump, timing belt, and head gaskets...

    Keep that in mind

    But looks like a good deal!

    Why would you need to do headgaskets on a 2.2 at only 100k? They arent known for going out... only the 2.5's...

    I was thinking that HGs were not a problem on the 2.2...Do you guys think the price is about right for this? Anything that routinely does go wrong on these?

    HG's aren't a problem on the 2.2L. Hell, I beat my old one up for 170K and never had an issue.

    Just change the oil as scheduled and you'll be fine.

    Yeah, there are plenty of people here who could do an engine swap, and stock turbos are cheap, as are stock exhausts. I doubt you can find a roller for any less...
