for how much he supposedly put into the car it seems that to let the main seal keep you from finishing seems odd. i know if i just dropped 6500 on a car, there is NO WAY in hell that a seal is going to keep me from driving it (fixed of course). so for the motor work unless he had receipts to prove what he says are actually done, i just don't know. wasn't there one for sale on here for 5k in full running condition?

but i have seen this car up for quite a while so i bet you could haggle him, i know he says he won't but i bet if you showed up with 3500 cash he would take it..i would have a hard time saying no if that was my car.

yea true true, im the same way. if i had done all that work, i wouldnt let a rear main seal keep me from finishing what i started. i think there is probly an unerlieing issue. but who knows.

This car has been forsale many times in the last six months. I have thought about buying it. It has been for sale with no problems, then with the motor blown, then with the motor out and a rebuilt motor. Motor was rebuilt in school buy the seller. IIRC, the motor has been out and apart also. There is just to much risk involved with possible failure of parts and non quality work on the car for me to think about buying it. Unless the price is DIRT cheap.

yea for sure, i got excited right away when i saw. thought to myself that could be an easy enough fix. but the more i think about...just way to sketchy.

i dont think you are the only one thats sketchy about it, judging from how long its been for sale.

now i wouldn't hesitate buying a built car from,
    A) someone i know personally
    B) someone i know has built cars before (like on this forum)

now some random dude on cl, not a chance. to many things that they may or may not tell you. Since i hate to say it, but to many people are pretty shady about things. You can polish a turd and sell it, and thats what i think that car may be. But again i could be completely wrong, and everything said is done, and all that is really wrong is he is LAZY.

Ya, dont get me wrong. For someone who is a DIY mechanic or someone wanting to do a STi drive train, the car would be an awesome deal. However, I wouldn't think about buying that car and just putting a rear seal in it. I would probably want to take it apart and double check everything.

$200 for BBS style 18" rims. I looked at them, I was going to buy them until I weighed them (25 pounds). 18x7.5 I think they are ASA's. One rims is VERY SLIGHTLY bent on the INSIDE, not a big deal, and could probably be tapped to almost perfect with a good shot from a rubber mallot. bottom line, heavy but nice for $200.

You kids are nuts. Classic 90's jdm racing wheels for a 90's jdm sports car. Knock offs or not, 3-spoke volks and advans were the hotness back in 1995.

Personally, I'd rather sport those than any Rota. Then again, guess what wheels I'd sport on a e30 m3 lol
