    Other than for resale value, does it even matter though? It's not like the difference between the ITR and GSR chassis.

    Either way, 12k for a salvage title parts bin impreza is way too much... even if it turns out it is originally an sti and even if it came with sti parts.

    People crash WRX's more often than STi's... because a certain demographic can afford them. Therefore they are a bigger liability than an STi. Luvs me some statistics.

    Before venturing into subaru's, I looked at audi s4's and also the volvo c30's. They were 25-25$ more a year.... The subaru= 130$ WTF!

    Well I just spoke to the lady who is selling this. It's actually her sons car but he got in a little trouble and needs to sell it. I think she means tuned stage 2.

    mkiv? They are! Almost picked up a 1993 6speed with 8x,xxx miles for low 20's a couple months ago. Couldn't afford it though :(
    I see maybe 1 or 2 unmolested ones a year and half a dozen or so lightly modded ones worth checking out. Realistically, I think it's going to end up being that obtainable car that I never end up owning though... the one that got away if you will.

    I hear ya... In truth I'd probably hold out for an NSX. Supra + NSX would pretty well round out my "might-actually-purchase-some-day" RWD 90's-mobile toy list.

    I've had a pretty long hard-on for the Supra... My aunt had a first gen Supra and Skyline GT-R back in the 70's. Wish more Japanese people kept old cars like we do here. Could have definitely worked my way into one of those.
    1994ish - got my first ride in my cousin's jdm Supra
    1998 - bought my first Supra (mkIII)
    2000 - Sold my mkIII and started seriously saving and budgeting for a MKIV supra
    2001 - Fast and the Furious killed any chance of obtaining one at a reasonable price for the next 6-7 years lol
    2009 - Closest I've ever come to actually buying one thanks to the market crash
    2015 - Realistically the year when I can afford one without making huge sacrifices. Collector plate status!
