    .... I like the RS body, but I hope you have a little experience with Subaru and some mechanical ability. Might be interesting to do a VIN check on that car.

    That parts list is extremely suspect. I would put money on the body having a lot more than 38K on it.

    I don't claim to know anything about hybrid Subaru engines but 8psi isn't very much. Just a quick google search I was seeing people with similar setups tuned into the low 20s. At 8PSI you will probably get walked on by any regular WRX.

    Do your homework on that car and the seller. The title probably shouldn't be clean.

    A buddy if mine sent the link to me, Andy found the thread from here for me too, he is also another buddy, I thought the same thing about the boost when I read the add, but unlike you I didn't take the initiative to google it or anything, although that car does seem capable of a lot more like you stated. Long story short I believe we talked him out of it just by telling him it's heavily modded and this would not be a good first boosted car.

    Maybe he misunderstood when someone said E85 increases resistance to knock?
    I am curious who has owned this car too, sounds like someone on here.

    You mean the best part is you get to be scammed by a guy named Fabio.

    I just got back from looking at it. Stay far away. It has a CEL that he'll tell you has been on forever but it's not actually a code because he had it pulled at autozone and there are no codes, the light just stays on. Apparently to be festive. When I called him on that bull****, he said "well it's usually just an O2 sensor". Probably correct, because...

    Lots and lots and lots of oil on the passenger side valve cover/head gasket. Can't quite tell which because there was so much of it caked all over everything.

    He claims new front and rear brakes, but the rotors look rusted and ****ty. Grooved to hell anyway.

    Before we got that far he denied a test drive. He didn't want me to rev the engine at all because "it's cold". He has no paperwork for any service, ever. He has no reciepts and/or knowledge of the parts that supposedly went in. He has no idea who owned the car before him. I didn't get to the point of asking about the status of the title.


    Anyway, HE shut down the inspection when I said the CEL is a deal breaker but I'm happy to help him get it pulled for free. This was at the Spur station on the corner of 38th and Bloomington, which apparently is staffed by all his buddies. I'm pretty sure of this because he didn't realize I went inside to wash my hands which were completely covered in oil. He was talking about how much I actually saw to his buddies when I walked up behind him and put my juice on the counter. Things got quiet and a bit tense.


    Anyway, scam. Stay away.


    Edit: Forgot there is some pretty questionable body work on there too. The RS bumper is not really secure and it has clearly undergone some serious hack job paint/rust repair in addition to the usual giant rust pockets on the rear quarters.

    Thanks for the info it will surely save some of us alot of time and BSing around, dislike BSers. Anyways you should of offered him like 20 bucks or demanded a cup of coffee for the waisted time and BSing right to your face. Damn that handsome Fabio... Did he shake is hair slowly into the wind and say "I cannot believe it's not butter?" LOL

    I went and looked at it yesterday. I'd stay away if I were you, haha. The guy was doing his own tuning on a laptop when I showed up and was getting really frustrated with the car. There was also noise coming from the transmission, not really sure why. It was a really clean car inside and out, but I don't need somebody else's problems.

    BEWARE on this one. Drove 3 hours to look at this today, only to get there and the dealership that has the car (Hooked on Classics) shut down before I got there (350) and so then I called shortly after seeing as all the doors were locked. The owner of the dealership then said I need to keep track of time better as he left at 4 because "I work 10-4 everyday and thats it!) even though I was there and all the doors were locked prior to then. Would not drive 15 min back to sell me the car which I explained to him before that I wouldn't be there until about 4 because I'm coming from 3 hrs away and had to get some stuff done with the bank.

    Needless to say came home empty handed and all i got was to peek through a window at the car...what a waste of a tank of gas and my whole day. Thumbs down for a rotten owner/bad seller.
