I would hope they are. But if his vehicle just stopped running I assumed his belt snapped.

Not super cheap but not super expensive. Average wear and tear for their age. And by Subaru I mean, WRX.

The numbers came from flatirons in CO. Fully assembled short block. I'm sure there are used blocks out there and I would think a running long block could be cheaper? I just want a cobb protuned wrx with few to little bolt-ons. DD with some spirited driving.

It sounds like it. I especially like the salvage title with no accidents.... How can that be?

You can have a salvage title due to theft

Staaaay away from ride auto! Lol all junk! Trust me. The 3rd one I've actually driven, drives pretty good and is pretty clean, I think it's a fair price, has a lot of extras! Only con is its a 02 so trans aren't super strong, his shifted nearly perfect though

Yeah sounds like it'd be worth checking out, seems like someone who has cared for the car and used quality mod components (other than the BC coilovers??) - a fair bit of money has already been spent on mods you might want to do, for instance the clutch is not a cheap job. I'd probably de-slam it somewhat for my taste, but at least this is easy with coilovers instead of it having aggressive lowering springs... Nice that a lot of the ~100k maintenance has been done already, like the timing belt and water pump, and compression is healthy. There's usually a decent number of used later 5-speed trannies available at a pretty reasonable price if you need to drop one in at some point, but even the earlier ones can hold up OK if they haven't been abused... I do wonder about this sentence though "engine throws misfire codes left and right", wonder what that's all about.

I agree it has a lot of things I would want to do already and yes I would want to deslam it a bit. The misfired only happen at idle he said so I'm thinking that the wrong spark plugs were used or aren't capped correctly. Will be looking at it soon and probably making the purchase unless someone beats me to it....

I don't think it's spark plugs, I have a similar issue and just replaced my plugs and it still has the same symptoms.

Possible injector issue or sensor, I work at a shop so I could dig into it pretty easily.
Unless of course someone already has some inside knowledge on what could be happening and whether it's is something major or can be overlooked.

Maybe I should call rs and ask them....:ninja:

Yeah when I drove it it wasn't misfiring, my guess is a coil pack!

I really love that color for the 9-2x I was looking for that color when I was buying mine. I think its called desert silver and only made in 2005 atleast for the aero.

What about keeping your 2.5i over the winter for you to drive so you don't have to take a quick-resale hit, buy a decent commuter car for the fiance (what does she like?), save up some cash over the winter and then sell the 2.5i in the spring and pick up a sweet Rex for yourself?
