What's wrong with the seller? Just wondering as I am looking at some of the subarus they have for sale...They seem to have a lot of subarus for sale.

Yes they do. I was told by his old partner that he knows nothing about Subarus, buys low and sells high.

I believe that we have a member on here that just bought a car there and the motor blew up in like three miles. Lmao. But i'll let him chime in if he feels so inclined.

The car looks like somethings up with the steering wheel and the guy didnt bother to clean the carpets cause the salt stains are in the carpets and those are really hard to get out. But its a lot cleaner than mine is but mines still a work in progress as I can find parts and all that good stuff lol. Plus no noticeable rust on the car so thats good. The timing belt and water pump will have to be done on it soon and thats a spendy job depending on the shop you have do it.

You could just do it in your garage for a couple hundred dollars and an afternoon.

That too if you know what youre doing or have someone know what theyre doing do it. Or spend the extra money and have a shop do it if you dont have the right tools at home to do it

Not saying it would not be a good idea to change the timing belt in that car but it was changed around 44k miles ago. What is the average amount of time between changes? I thought it was around 90k-105k.

I did mine at 107K. you can always pop the covers off and inspect the belt.

looks like the airbag may be a replacement one, too much space between it and the steering wheel on the right side.

Usually when the airbag goes off, it distorts the steering wheel and causes what you see there. So I can say with confidence: "That steering wheel has had the airbag go off", doesn't necessarily mean that car has been in an accident though as I've seen many people/places selling steering wheels after the airbag has gone off.

I mustve misread about the timing belt and water pump. I thought it had the 188 and was changed at the 108 skimmed through it a little too quick I guess. Ive heard 60-80k on the timing belt and water pump but it could go longer depending on how the owner drove the car.

Shouldn't it be around $18k at this point? Is this not the incredible machine that continues to appreciate as quality parts are hocked and it gets progressively more neglected?

So you are saying I should buy this car because it is currently undervalued? A good investment!

Wow, now it has a color mismatched hood, unpainted hoodscoop, bright blue floormats and an NF sticker on it.

Please, whoever buys this, when you're done ****ting all over it, can you please just burn it to the ground?

FYI, to anyone looking at that car.

12,000 is what I sold it for, but it still had the PPG transmission, Sparco interior, and the paint on the hood matched the rest of the car. I also see that the JDM "IMPREZA" lettering from the trunklid is gone.
For 12,500, you're getting it minus the PPG gearset because the guy I sold it too was too stupid to drive a 5 speed without grenading it, minus the fully matched interior it had, including floormats, and the paint is now a ****ing wreck.
If you're smart, you'll pay 8,500 for it, and not a penny more.

What you should do is do a pre-purchase part out. Figure out what everyone wants from the car for parts, then figure out what each person owes as a portion of the total cost. Buy it, and then have everyone strip out the parts they want and pay their share of the bill. I would probably avoid the Tein coilovers, they needed a rebuild when I had them, and I doubt any of the Rhodes Scholars that have owned it since bothered to get them done. The Wilwoods are good, but will likely need full servicing. I'm sure the engine, turbo, etc is fine. Honestly, half of what made that a cool car has been removed and sold off for lesser parts, seriously. If you pay 12,500 for that thing, you're getting taken pretty hard.

If we're going to give that car a Viking funeral, we need to do the proper thing and tie the current owner to the seat when we burn it for ****ing up one of the better Subarus in MN and then trying to screw the members on here over after he sold most of the good parts off.

**** him and the horse he rode in on. I hope he doesn't see more than 7k for it, and that those bills are infested with dysentery.
