Delicious Bass Forgot to put this picture up of the bass I caught a few weekends back. My guess was around 4 lbs. Plastic worm ala texas rig in the lillies.
I learned after my first summer having a boat that I know nothing about fishing I still enjoy just getting out there though.
I might be the first one out this year. Come on guys, it's on fire. 4/6/11 24in. released. Caught on a Chartreuse Pepper Moxie while dragging in 15fow. Also boated a 22, two 17's, and a 15 in. sauger.
I just booked a lake of the woods trip too. I am stoked. We will have to hook up this year in Park Rapids. I think we are going to start going up there in May.
Did you find funds to keep going this year after having to buy that engine? Otherwise, you should have time right? Barely got out like twice last year. Derek, how's your lake up north? Might have to go out fishing when we come up this summer.

They are wipers! A breed between a striper and white bass or aka a hybrid. Those guys was 27" and 28" wipers.
I wish I had something to show off. I've only been out once this year and forgot to put in the drain plug in before dropping the boat in the water:ugh: luckily we caught it right away. hopefully that was the lesson I needed to never forget again.
Worst case just start driving open throttle to drain out a good amount of water in the boat, then just make sure to be speedy about putting it back on the trailer... i have had this happen a few times, but was never at fault (yet).
^^^^Yeah I've heard that trick but if you saw my boat you would understand theres not much open in it's throttle. For being 56 years old it still does the job though.
Anybody wanna share a last minute tip. I've got the boat almost loaded up but haven't decided where to go. Looking for a lake in the north metro but don't really wanna travel too far away.(leaving from Blaine) Any thoughts?
Linwood? I have fished there in the winter and had good luck, never done it in a boat though. Did some fishing with BroCo on Saturday in the Park Rapids area... it was a good time.

We ended up at Coon lake right down the road from Linwood. I really need to learn a thing or two about fishing basics, We seem to catch more sun than anything. Still beats working.
Glad that i could do my part. Keep in mind the water is still cold, so the fishing is a bit harder still. Catching sun is always good... BroCo and I did a bit of that too while looking for monsters in Park Rapids. sounds like I will be fishing Bald Eagle Sunday and Turtle Lake next Thursday... BroCo, Long Lake next Saturday? Maybe?
No pics, but I got a 3 lb channel cat in the mississippi (in monti) a few weekends ago, first cat of the year, and first cat in the miss EVER.
Thanks man! We've placed 3rd and 2nd in the last two league nights so we're creepin back up there. PS: parts are being ordered to get my boat back in order.
